특수교육서비스 이후 발달장애인의 직장 경험을 통한 전환의 의미 탐색

After the special education service, Exploring the meaning of the transition through the vocational experience of people with developmental disabilities

본 연구는 우리나라 현재 전환교육 서비스의 방향성을 탐색하기 위해서 특수교육서비스를 받은 발달장애인들이 학령기 이후에 직업 세계에 진입 후 힘들어 하는 것과 힘든 것을 어떻게 극복했는가에 대한 경험을 통해 전환의 의미에 대한 심층적 정보를 얻을 수 있는 질적 사례 연구방법으로 수행하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 3년 이상의 직장 경험을 가진 발달장애인 근로자를 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 참여자들은 장애인 직업재활시설의 기관관계자의 추천에 의해 의도적 표집추출(Purposive Sampling)로 선정되었다. 개별 면담을 통하여 수집하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 3개의 상위범주(도저히 견디기 힘듦, 꾹꾹 참으며 힘냄, 일 때문에 힘남)와 7개의 하위범주(오래 집중하지 못함, 일에 비해 낮은 월급, 결혼하기 위해 일함, 더 좋은 곳으로 취업을 원함, 행복감을 배우게 함, 성취감을 갖게 함, 살아있다는 느낌)를 발견하였다.

This study was conducted as a qualitative case study method that can obtain in-depth information on the meaning of transition through experiences of developmental disabilities who received special education services after entering the vocational world after school age. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a study was conducted on workers with developmental disabilities with more than 3 years of work experience. Participants in the study were selected as purposive sampling by the recommendation of institutional officials in vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled. The results collected and analyzed through individual interviews are as follows. We found three upper categories (being difficult to endure, reasons to endure, making a power for work), and seven lower categories (not to concentrate the work, low salary compared to work, working to get married, wanting to get a better job, learning happiness, feeling fulfilled, and feeling alive). For people with developmental disabilities who received special education during school age, the meaning of ‘transition’ through vocational life can be said to be acquiring psychological rewards such as their self-esteem and sense of achievement. Researcher found out that it provides vitality in life and boosts self-esteem beyond the opportunity to earn a living through a job.
