초고령 노인의 성공적 노화 관점에 기반한 경로당 참여경험에 관한 질적사례연구

Understanding the perspectives of super-aged people using Senior Centers on successful ageing and suggestions of super aged people for the development of Senior Centers: a qualitative case study approach

본 연구는 초고령 노인이 근거리에 인접한 노인여가복지시설인 경로당 참여 활동을 통해 연구참여자가 경험하는 성공적 노화를 이해하고 그들이 제안하는 사회복지서비스 실천과 정책 발전방안을 초고령 노인의 성공적 노화 관점에 기반하여 이해하고자 한다. 본 연구는 전남지역의 M시와 H군, M군 3지역의 경로당을 이용하는 80세 이상 초고령 노인 17명을 대상으로 Stake(1985)의 질적사례연구방법론을 사용하여 수행되었다. 연구결과, 첫째, 경로당 참여 활동을 통해 80세 이상 초고령 노인이 경험하는 성공적 노화는 ‘활기 있는 삶의 공동체를 통해 주체적이고 기능적인 장수를 누리는 성공적 노화’라는 상위주제로 나타났다. 둘째, 성공적 노화를 이루기 위한 연구참여자들의 실천적 제안은 ‘초고령자들을 위한 경로당의 규모 있는 사회복지서비스 기능과 지역공동체 센터 기능 확대 및 확장’이라는 상위주제가 도출되었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 사회적 접근성이 낮은 초고령 노인의 성공적 노화를 위해 근거리 노인여가복지시설인 경로당을 더욱 활성화할 것을 제안하였고 초고령 노인의 성공적 노화를 위해 경로당을 지역사회복지 통합서비스센터로 발전시킬 것을 제안하였다.

This research purposed to understand the successful ageing experienced by super aged people through activities using Senior Centres which are social welfare facilities placed in near their residences. also, this research aims to understand suggestions of super aged people for Senior Centers development in social service practices and policies. This research was performed in a qualitative case study approach which is presented by Stake (1985). Research participants were 17 super older people who were over 80 aged people living in M city, M-gun, H-gun in Julanam-do. They had an in-depth individual interview. The Following 2 research themes were generated from the data analysis. First, super aged people could achieve successful ageing with functional, self-directed, and longer life in vigorous living community constructed in Senior Clubs. Second, super older people suggested to expand social welfare services and enlarge the function of Senior Cent res as local community centers. In conclusion, this research suggested to activate the Senior Centers to provide social welfare services to super aged people who have lower level of social activity for successful ageing and develop Senior Centers as a central service center interpreting community welfare services.
