교사 참여 연구대회의 의미와 효용성에 대한 질적 문서분석

Qualitative Document Analysis on the Meaning and usefulness of the Research Contest in which teachers participate

본 연구는 연구대회의 의미와 효용성에 대한 비판적인 이해와 개선방안을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 연구자는 연구대회에 관한 법령, 여러 연구대회의 운영계획서, 실제 연구대회 참여 교사들의 인터뷰 전사 내용에 대해 질적 문서분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대회는 교사의 자기 실천에 관한 탐구를 통해 일반화 수 있는 현장 실천적 지식을 구성하는 것을 추구한다. 둘째, 연구대회는 실증주의에 기초한 기술적-합리주의적 효과성을 추구하였다. 셋째, 연구대회는 효율적인 선발을 위한 등위 평가를 추구하였다. 넷째, 연구대회는 학교 관리자의 지위와 권한을 갖게 되는 교사를 선발하는 권력수단으로 규율을 통해 참가 교사들에게 책무성을 부여하고 참가교사의 행위를 통제하였다. 본 결과를 토대로, 연구자는 연구대회를 개선하기 위한 4가지 방안을 제안하였다. 첫째, 교육 당국은 연구대회에서 교사들이 진정한 실행연구를 할 수 있도록 구체적인 연구절차 및 방법에 대한 연수를 마련해야 한다. 둘째, 연구대회는 교사의 성찰성과 경험의 의미 발견에 초점을 둔 질적 연구방법을 추구해야 한다. 셋째, 교육 당국은 연구대회 심사자와 참가교사 간에 의사소통성이 강화될 수 있도록 운영 및 심사 방법 내실화해야 한다. 넷째, 교육 당국은 연구실천의 사회적 기여를 인정하는 의미에서 연구 결과물을 산출한 모든 교사에게 보상을 부여해야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to provide a critical understanding of the meaning and usefulness of the research contest in which teachers participate and improvement measures. To this end, the researcher conducted a qualitative document analysis on the laws regarding research contest, operation plans of various research contest, and transcripts of interviews with teachers participating in actual research contest. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the research contest seeks to construct generalizable practical knowledge of educational field through the investigation of teachers' self-practice. Second, the research contest pursued technical-rationalistic effectiveness based on positivism. Third, the research contest pursued rank evaluation for efficient selection. Fourth, the research contest was a means of power to select teachers who would have the status and authority of school administrators, and through discipline, accountability was given to participating teachers and the behavior of participating teachers was controlled. Based on this result, the researcher suggested 4 ways to improve the research contest. First, the education authorities should prepare training on specific research procedures and methods so that teachers can do real practical research in research contest. Second, the research competition should pursue a qualitative research method that focuses on teachers' reflection and discovering the meaning of experience. Third, the education authorities should improve the operation and evaluation methods so that communication between the research contest reviewers and participating teachers can be strengthened. Fourth, education authorities should reward all teachers who produced research results in the sense of acknowledging the social contribution of research practice.
