연구 목적 본 논문은 뉴노멀 시대, 종교의 공공성을 회복하기 위한 종교교육은 어떻게 이루 어져야 하는지를 논의하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 내용 뉴노멀이라는 용어는 2008년 글로벌 금융위기 이후 새롭게 나타난 세계경제의 특징을 통칭하는 용어이다. 신뢰할 수 있는 제3자에 대한 신뢰할 수 없음의 문제를 제기하였 던 뉴노멀이라는 용어가 팬데믹을 겪으면서 다시 논의가 되고 있다. 팬데믹을 겪으면서 생존 을 위해 선택했던 디지털이 인류가 선택한 뉴노멀이 되어가고 있다. 특유의 공동체 문화 속 에서의 성직자의 일탈과 팬데믹에 대처하는 모습 속에서 공공성의 상실이라는 문제와 마주 하게 된 종교가 공공성을 회복하기 위해서는 무엇이 전제되어야 할 것인가에 대한 질문에서 본 연구는 시작되었다. 세간에 회자는 닫힌 종교는 종교가 스스로 선택한 셈이다. 모든 정보 가 검색되고 공유되는 디지털 세상 속에서 드러난 성직자의 일탈과 팬데믹에 대처하는 종교 의 모습 속에서 신뢰의 상실문제가 발생하면서 나타난 현상이기 때문이다. 어떻게 신뢰를 회 복할 것인지, 어떻게 책임지는 자세를 취할 것인지에 고뇌의 시간이 주어진 것임에는 분명해 보인다. 결론 본 논문에서는 팬데믹을 거치면서 뉴노멀이라는 용어가 다시 부각되는 점에 천착하고 자 하였다. 디지털 세상에서는 신뢰와 책임의 문제가 더욱 중요할 수밖에 없다. 디지털 세상 속에서의 종교 또한 마찬가지이다. 불신의 벽에 갇힌 종교가 이를 허물고 공공성을 회복하기 위해서는 성직자를 포함한 모든 종교인들이 남을 잘 되게 하라는 황금률을 기반으로 신뢰를 회복하기 위한 책임 있는 자세가 요구된다.
PURPOSE This paper aims to discuss how religious education should be conducted in order to restore the publicness of religion in the New Normal era. CONTENTS Some clergy's deviant behaviors and the undesirable appearance of dealing with the Pandemic have raised the issue of the loss of the publicness of religion. This study begins with the question of what should be premised to restore the publicness of religion. Closed religion is a self-inflicted result of religion. This is because in the digital world where all information is open and shared, the deviation of a certain religion and its priests caused the loss of trust on religion. It seems clear that there is a need for time to agonize over how to restore trust and take responsibility. RESULTS The digital world places more importance on trust and responsibility. The same is true of religion in the digital world. In order for religion trapped in a wall of distrust to break it down and restore publicness, it is essential for all religious people, including priests to have a responsible attitude toward restoring trust based on the golden rule of “Do good to others.”
