Orthodontic Treatment for Adult Patients with Scissors Bite Using Tiggle Brackets

Due to the difficulty of correcting scissors bite, so many treatment modalities have been suggested. One of them are crisscross elastics, orthodontic miniscrews, trans-palatal arch with precision lingual arch wire, and so on. Tiggle brackets are one of minitubes which was recently introduced for the treatment of anterior teeth. It is designed to be positioned on the lingual surfaces of the anterior teeth. They exert very light force, so the counteraction is very small with minimum side effect. With their small size, it is good to bond on the teeth with scissors bite, reducing the possibility of falling off during masticatory movement. Tiggle brackets can be a very useful orthodontic treatment modality when correcting scissors bite.
