‘지역연계 참여적 학습방법’에 의한 온라인 프로그램 개발 및 적용

A Study on Online program development by ‘Community-based Participatory Learning method’: Focusing on Civic Awareness

COVID-19로 인해 디지털 기술의 일상화가 이뤄지고 있는 현재 다양한 교육현장에서는 디지털테크놀로지를 활용한 온라인 기반 학습이 각양각색으로 이뤄지고 있다. 나아가 UN 총회에서 세계시민교육을 지속가능발전목표로 상정하면서 전 세계적으로 시민의식에 대한 교육적 접근이 모색되고 있다. 본 연구는 학교에서 온라인 지역연계 참여적 학습 프로그램을 개발 및 시행하고 그 교육적 효과를 시민의식 함양 측면에서 살펴보는 데 목적을 두고, ‘지역연계 참여적 학습방법’을 국가 수준 교육과정과 연계하고자 하였다. 이에 따라 지역연계 온라인 학습프로그램을 개발, 적용하여 학생과 지역주민의 시민의식의 3가지 영역에 대한 함양 여부를 질적 분석을 통해 살펴보았으며, 학생은 행동, 사회·정서, 인지적 영역 순으로, 지역주민은 사회·정서, 행동, 인지적 영역 순으로 높은 빈도수가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 결과적으로 교육과정 재구성을 통한 온라인 지역연계 참여적 학습은 참여 학생과 지역주민 모두의 시민의식 함양에 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 지역연계 참여적 학습 관련 연구가 많지 않은 학교 현장에 구체적인 사례를 제시한다는 점에서 가치를 지닌다. 향후 학교와 지역기관의 동등한 관계 구축을 통한 공동참여를 비롯한 기관 간의 지속적인 연계가 이뤄진다면 공동체 형성 및 시민의식 함양이 극대화될 것으로 보인다.

As digital technology is becoming commonplace due to COVID-19, online-based learning using digital technology is being conducted in various ways in various educational fields. Furthermore, as the UN General Assembly set global citizenship education as a sustainable development goal, educational approaches to citizenship are being sought around the world. This study aims to develop and implement an online community-based participatory learning program(CPL) in schools and examine its educational effects in terms of cultivating citizenship and to link the CPL method with the national curriculum. By developing and applying the online CPL, it was investigated whether students and local residents were nurtured in three areas of citizenship through a qualitative analysis. It was confirmed that online CPL through was effective in cultivating civic awareness of both students and local residents. This study has value in that it presents specific CPL cases in school. Building equal relationship among schools and local institutions will maximize community formation and civic awareness.
