학교 유휴교실 활용 도출을 위한 모델 연구

A study on the use of school idle classrooms as a regional art base

전국의 초·중·고등학교 유휴교실은 학령인구 감소로 급증하고 있는 추세이며, 급격한 도시화와 저출산의 영향을 받아 점차 학령인구 감소하고 있으며 이에 따라 학교 유휴교실이 점점 더 늘어날 것이다. 학교의 유휴 교실을 예술가들이 상주하는 공간으로 대여하고 예술가는 자신이 보유한 예술콘텐츠를 학교와 학생들에게 지속적으로 제공하면 학교와 예술가 둘 모두에게 이익이 될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 학교 유휴교실을 예술가와의 연계 방안을 통해 학교의 지역예술거점으로서의 역할에 대해 고민하였다. 본 연구의 연구방법으로는 예술가 현황분석을 하여 예술가의 인적 맵핑, 예술가 창작공간 분석, 예술가 소득 및 문화예술교육 활동 분석했다. 또한 학교-지역사회 연계망, 도시재생 연계망, 일자리창출 연계망에 대한 분석을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서 도출한 학교 유휴교실 활용 모델에 기대효과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술가에게는 안정적인 창작 공간을 제공하고 학생에게는 양질의 문화예술교육을 제공할 수 있다. 둘째, 지역 예술 거점으로서의 학교 역할을 기대할 수 있다. 셋째, 예술가를 매개로 한 학교 지역연계가 가능하다. 넷째, 도시재생 사업과의 연계도 가능하다. 전국의 학교에 넘쳐나는 유휴교실을 활용해 학교 문화예술교육을 더 활성화시킨다면 더 많은 예술가가 안정된 수입 통해 자신의 예술적 가치를 발전시킬 수 있으며 이는 지역 예술 활성화에 기여할 것이다. 또한 지역연계와 도시재생 프로그램으로서의 학교 문화예술교육 활성화로 더 많은 학생들과 지역주민들이 문화예술교육이 가지고 있는 교육적의 혜택을 누릴 것으로 기대한다. 본 연구에서 다룬 학교 문화예술교육의 지역연계 문화예술교육과 도시재생사업과의 연계는 본 연구에서뿐만 아니라 이후 문화예술교육의 방향성 연구에서도 충분히 고려해 볼 만한 가치가 있을 것이다.

Unused classrooms in elementary, middle, and high schools across the country are rapidly increasing due to the decrease in the school-age population. Elementary and middle schools across the country will experience a gradual decrease in the school-age population under the influence of rapid urbanization and low fertility. As a result, the number of unused classrooms in schools will gradually increase. In this study, I thought about the role of the school as a regional art hub by connecting the idle classrooms with artists. As the research method of this study, the artist status was analyzed and the artist's human mapping, the artist's creative space analysis, the artist's income and cultural arts education activities were analyzed. In addition, the analysis of the school-community network, the urban regeneration network, and the job creation network was conducted. The expected effects of the school idle classroom utilization model derived in this study are as follows. First, it can provide a stable creative space for artists and provide quality art education to students. Second, the role of the school as a regional art hub can be expected. Third, it is possible to link schools with local communities through artists. Fourth, it is possible to link with urban regeneration projects. If school art education is further revitalized by using unused classrooms overflowing with schools across the country, more artists will be able to develop their artistic values through stable income, which will contribute to revitalizing local arts. In addition, it is expected that more students and local residents will enjoy the educational benefits of art education by activating school art education as a regional linkage and urban regeneration program. The link between regional art education and urban regeneration projects in school art education dealt with in this study will be worth considering not only in this study but also in future studies on the direction of art education.
