시각장애 청소년의 코로나19 팬데믹

A Qualitative Study on the COVID-19 Pandemic Experience of Youths with Visual Impairments

연구목적: 본 연구는 코로나19 팬데믹 상황에서 시각장애 청소년의 학교생활과 일상생활 경험을 탐색함으로써 향후 감염병이라는 사회적 재난 상황에서 이들의 권리를 보장하기 위한 정책을 수립하는 데 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구방법: 시각장애 청소년의 코로나19 경험을 탐색하기 위해 9명의 시각장애 청소년을 대상으로 개별심층 면접을 실시하였으며, 주제분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 시각장애 청소년의 코로나19 경험 분석결과, ‘비대면 수업의 한계’, ‘단절되어가는 관계’, ‘불안하고 불편한 대면 수업’, ‘정서적인 어려움’, ‘제한적인 여가활동’, ‘일상적 방역수칙의 어려움’, ‘가족의 소중함’ 이라는 주제를 발견하였다. 결론: 감염병이라는 사회적 재난 상황에서 시각장애 청소년의 권리를 보장하기 위해서 관련 플랫폼과 어플리케이션 개발 시 장애인의 접근성과 편리성을 고려해야 하며, 시각장애 청소년의 정신건강을 위한 상담서비스와 여가활동 지원 서비스가 제공될 필요가 있다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to establish policies to protect the rights of youths with visual impairments in social disaster such as infectious diseases in the future by exploring the school life and daily life experiences of youths with visual impairments in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Method: In order to explore the COVID-19 experience of youths with visual impairments, indivisual in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 youths with visual impairments, and analyzed by subject analysis method. Results: As a result of analyzing the COVID-19 experience of youths with visual impairments, the themes of limitation of non-face-to-face classes, disconnected relationship, anxious and uncomfortable face-to-face classes, emotional difficulties, limited leisure activity, difficulty in complying with quarantine rules, and family value were found. Conclusion: In order to protect the rights of youths with visual impairments in the social disaster situation of infectious diseases, accessibility and convenience of the disabled should be considered when developing related platforms and applications, and counseling services for mental health and leisure activities should be provided.
