본 연구는 초기 성인기 남녀를 대상으로 내현적 자기애와 지연행동의 관계에서 수치심과 회피분산적 정서조절양식이 이중매개효과를 가지는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 초기 성인기 남녀 420명의 데이터를 SPSS 22.0와 SPSS PROCESS macro 프로그램을 사용하여 최종 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내현적 자기애, 수치심, 회피분산적 정서조절양식, 지연행동은 모두 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 지연행동의 관계에서 수치심의 매개효과가 유의하게 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 내현적 자기애와 지연행동의 관계에서 회피분산적 정서조절양식의 부분매개효과가 나타났다. 넷째, 내현적 자기애와 지연행동 간의 관계에서 수치심과 회피분산적 정서조절양식의 순차적 부분이중매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 초기 성인기의 내현적 자기애가 수치심과 회피분산적 정서조절양식을 통해 지연행동에 유의한 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미하며 내현적 자기애의 수치심이 지연행동으로 이어지는 데 있어 회피분산적 정서조절양식의 영향력이 중요하다는 점을 시사한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
This study was to examine the double mediating effect of shame and avoidant-distractive emotional regulation style in the relationship between covert narcissism and procrastination in early adulthood. A total of 420 responses were analyzed using SPSS PROCESS macro. The results of this study are as follows. First, there were a statistically significant relationship between covert narcissism, shame, avoidant-distractive emotional regulation style, and procrastination. Second, shame partially mediated the relation between covert narcissism and procrastination. Third, avoidant-distractive emotional regulation style partially mediated the relation between covert narcissism and procrastination. Finally, shame and avoidant-distractive emotional regulation style showed double mediating effect in the sequential pathway between covert narcissism procrastination. However, the direct effect of shame on procrastination was insignificant. Implications and limitations of the study and recommendations for future research were discussed.
