중학생의 학업성취도, 진로성숙도, 공동체의식에 대한 잠재프로파일 분류와 영향 변인 탐색

Latent Profile Analysis of Middle School Students’ Academic Achievement, Career Maturity, and Sense of Community, and the Effect of Relevant Factors

본 연구는 중학생의 학업성취도, 진로성숙도, 공동체의식의 수준에 따른 잠재프로파일을 분류하고, 학생 개인, 부모, 학교 생활 및 교사 변인이 잠재프로파일 분류에 미치는 영향을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부산광역시 교육청 교육정책연구소에서 제공하는 부산교육종단연구(Busan Education Longitudinal Study: BELS) 자료의 중학교 3학년에 해당되는 초4 패널의 6차년도 자료를 활용하여 잠재프로파일 분석의 3단계 접근법을 실시하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학생의 학업성취도, 진로성숙도, 공동체의식은 3개의 잠재프로파일 집단으로 분류되는 것이 가장 적절한 것으로 나타났으며, 이를 ‘낮은 학업성취도-낮은 진로성숙도-낮은 공동체의식’, ‘중간 학업성취도-낮은 진로성숙도-중간 공동체의식’, ‘높은 학업성취도-높은 진로성숙도-높은 공동체의식’ 으로 명명하였다. 둘째, 잠재프로파일 분류에 영향을 미치는 변인을 탐색한 결과, 학업적 효능감, 수업 방식, 자유학년제 만족도, 교사의 ICT 활용정도가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 중학생의 다양한 발달의 측면(학업성취도, 진로성숙도, 공동체의식)을 고려하여 분류된 집단의 특징을 확인하고 집단 분류에 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인을 탐색함으로써 교육적 시사점을 논의하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to classify the latent profiles of middle school students’ academic achievement, career maturity, and sense of community and also to explore the impact of relevant factors on the identified latent profiles. For this propose, a latent profile analysis with a three-step approach was applied to the sixth band of the elementary 4 panel (9th grade) of the Busan Education Longitudinal Study (BELS). Results are as follows. First, ninth graders were classified into three latent profiles: (a) low academic achievement—low career maturity—low sense of community, (b) middle academic achievement—low career maturity—middle sense of community, and (c) high academic achievement—high career maturity—high sense of community. Second, as a result of exploring variables that affect the classification of latent profiles, relevant factors such as academic efficacy, teaching method, satisfaction with the free school year system, and the degree of the teacher's ICT use were found to have a significant effect. This study is meaningful in that it discusses educational implications by identifying the characteristics of latent profiles and exploring the effect of various factors on the latent profiles in consideration of a variety of aspects (academic achievement, career maturity, and sense of community) of middle school students’ development.
