동물상징 성격유형검사(ASPT)의 상징체계에 대한 일치성 연구

본 연구의 목적은 ASPT(동물상징성격유형검사)에 등장하는 동물상징의미가 일반인들이 생각하는 상징의미와 일치하는지 살펴보고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 제주도를 제외한 일반 성인 남녀 239명을 대상으로 인터뷰와 심층설문조사를 실시한 후, ASPT에서 사용된 30종류의 동물상징의미와 심층조사에서 도출된 상징의미를 성격유형별로 비교분석하였다. 본 연구에서 분석결과 평균적 일치 82.6% 불일치 17.4%로 나타났다. 이는 동물상징에 대한 원형적 의미가 시대와 문화를 초월하여 여전히 인간의 마음속에 유전되어 내려오고 있다는 것을 나타내 주고 있다. 따라서 동물의 원형적 상징을 활용하여 인간의 성격유형을 파악하는 ASPT에 대한 신뢰와 타당성이 검증된 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 동물상징체계에 대한 심층적인 의미와 실체를 객관적으로 조명하였다는 사실에 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether the meaning of animal symbols appearing in Animal Symbolic Personality Type Test (ASPT) is consistent with the meaning of symbols that ordinary people think. To this end, after conducting interviews and in-depth surveys on 239 general adult men and women excluding Jeju Island, The meanings of 30 animal symbols used in ASPT and the meanings of symbols derived from in-depth research were compared and analyzed by personality type. The analysis results in this study showed an average agreement of 82.6% and a disagreement of 17.4%. This shows that the archetypal meaning of animal symbols is still inherited in the human mind, transcending time and culture. Therefore, it can be seen that the trust and validity of ASPT, which uses the archetypal symbols of animals to identify human personality types, have been verified. Therefore, this study is significant in that it objectively illuminates the in-depth meaning and reality of the animal symbol system
