한국 성인의 자살요인과 종교의 상관성

An Analysis of Variables Related to Suicidal Intension among Korean Adults: Focusing on Quality of Life, Concern of Death, Fear of Death and View of Life and Death

이 연구는 한국 성인들을 대상으로 자살에 영향을 주는 여러 요인을 다각적으로 분석해보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 주요 요인을 종교를 바탕한 사생관과 삶의 질, 죽음관여도, 죽음불안과의 관계를 파악함으로써 현재 한국사회의 사회문제인 자살에 영향을 주는 요인을 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국 성인 602명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 자료를 활용하였다. 개인의 환경을 고려한 삶의 질의 요인을 ‘사회경제적 조건’, ‘인간관계’, ‘건강상태’, ‘심리적 영역’의 4요소로 1차적 요인을 설정하였다. 또한 자살에 영향을 주는 요인으로 ‘죽음관여도’와 ‘죽음불안’의 요인은 설정하였고, 개인의 죽음에 대한 인식을 사생관의 세 가지 차원, ‘순환형’, ‘단절형’, ‘과업형’으로 변수를 설정하였다. 분석 결과, 다양한 요인들이 영향을 미쳤으나, 특히 삶의 질의 변인 중 ‘직업만족도’와 ‘가족관계’, ‘사회적 지지’, ‘행복’의 변수가 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, ‘죽음관여도’와 ‘죽음불안’ 역시 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 사생관변인 중에서는 ’단절형‘이 자살에 강한 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

The objectives of this study are to investigate factors influencing ‘suicidal intension’ based on ‘quality of life’, ‘concern of death’, ‘fear of death’ and ‘view of life and death’ in Korea. In the study, 602 individuals were surveyed by Hankook research (HRC) and the collected data were analyzed. I selected four variables ‘social economic variables’, ‘human relationship variables’, ‘health condition variables’ and ‘subjective psychological well-being variables’ for the factor of ‘the quality of life’. In addition I selected factors for ‘concern of death’ and ‘fear of death’. The factor of ‘view of life and death’ was also added in the study because individual perception is important to determine the attitude on life and death. For the analysis, I classified the factor of ‘view of life and death’ into three types:(‘Circulation type’, ‘Discontinuation type’, and ‘Implementation type’) to examine the relationship with ‘suicidal intension’. Results indicated that various factors for ‘quality of life’ were influencing ‘suicidal intension’. Especially, variables of ‘family relationship’, ‘social support’, ‘mental health’ and ‘happiness’ were associated with ‘suicidal intension’. Futhermore, ‘concern of death factor’ and ‘fear of death factor’ both were associated with ‘suicidal intension’. For the factor of ‘view of life and death’, the discontinuation type, was strongly negatively associated with a ‘suicidal intension’.
