정보 추구 전략에 기반한 데이팅 앱 이용자 유형에 관한 연구

An exploratory study on the types of dating app users based on information seeking strategies: Focusing on motives, privacy concerns, trust, intention to form offline relationships, and relationship satisfaction

본 연구는 데이팅 앱 이용자들을 대상으로 데이팅 상대에 대한 불확실성을 낮추기 위한 정보 추구 전략에 따라서 어떻게 유형화 될 수 있는지, 각 유형에 영향을 미치는 이용자의 특성은 무엇인지, 또한 각 유형에 따라서 데이팅 앱 경험인 실질적인 유대관계 형성에 차이가 있는지를 연구하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 데이팅 앱 이용자들을 정보 추구 전략에 기반하여 유형화한 결과 ‘관찰형’, ‘적극형’, ‘소극형’의 세 가지 유형이 도출되었다. 둘째, 각 유형에 영향을 미치는 변인을 탐색한 결과, 연애동기가 높을수록 소극형 보다는 관찰형에 속할 가능성이 높고, 소통용이성과 자기확인 동기가 높을수록 소극형 보다는 적극형에 그리고 프라이버시 우려가 높을수록 관찰형과 적극형에 속할 가능성이 높다. 셋째, 각 이용자 유형별로 신뢰에는 유의미한 차이가 없으나, 소극형에 비해서, 관찰형이 더 높은 오프라인 관계 형성 의도를 보였으며, 적극형은 더 높은 관계 만족도를 보였다.

This study explores how dating app users can be categorized according to information-seeking strategies to reduce uncertainty about dating partners, what characteristics of users affect each type, and whether there is a difference in actual relationship formation, which is a dating app experience. The results are follows: first, three types were derived: 'observational information-seeking type', 'active information-seeking type', and 'inactive information-seeking type'. Second, users with high dating motive are more likely to belong to the observational information-seeking type than to the inactive information-seeking type, and users with high communication ease and self-verification motives are more likely to belong to the active information-seeking type than the inactive information-seeking type. In addition, the higher the privacy concern, the higher the possibility of belonging to the observational information-seeking type or the active information-seeking type than the inactive information-seeking type. The observational information-seeking type users have higher intention to form an offline relationship than the inactive information-seeking type users, and the active information-seeking type users have higher relationship satisfaction than the inactive information-seeking type users.
