The Development and Validation of Media Regulation Scale for Young Children

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 유아를 대상으로 미디어조절력의 개념 및 구성요소를 도출하여 이를 바탕으로 미디어조절력을 측정할 수 있는 타당도와 신뢰도가 확보된 척도를 개발하는 것이다. 연구방법: 이를 위한 절차는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 문헌고찰 및 1차 델파이 조사를 바탕으로 미디어조절력의 하위요인을 미디어 계획능력 12문항, 미디어 실행능력 14문항, 미디어 점검능력 11문항, 미디어 평가능력 11문항으로 총 48문항을 개발하였다. 이를 바탕으로 2차 델파이 조사를 통해 검사도구에 대한 적절성을 검토한 후 1문항을 삭제하고 총 47문항을 개발하였다. 둘째, 예비조사의 문항양호도 분석에서 유아 90명을 대상으로 문항반응분포와 문항변별도를 살펴보았다. 셋째, 본조사의 검사양호도 분석에서 유아 400명을 대상으로 구인타당도, 공인타당도, 그리고 신뢰도를 확인하였다. 연구결과: 이러한 과정을 통해 최종 개발된 미디어조절력 척도는 미디어 계획능력 7문항, 미디어 실행능력 5문항, 미디어 점검능력 7문항, 미디어 평가능력 11문항으로 총 30문항으로 구성하였다. 결론: 본 척도는 유아의 미디어조절력을 신뢰롭고 타당하게 측정할 수 있는 척도라고 볼 수 있으며, 앞으로 미디어조절력과 관련된 연구에서 유용한 도구로 활용될 것이다.

Objective: This study aimed to develop a reliable and valid scale to measure media regulation for young children Methods: The research procedure and results were as follows: First, based on a documentary consideration and prior test tool, the sub-factors of media addiction were developed with 48 questions, including media plan with 12 questions, media performance with 14 questions, media check with 11 questions, and media evaluation with 11 questions, according to the procedure of developing test questions. Based on this, after reviewing the adequacy of the inspection tool through the second expert consultation, one question was deleted, and 47 questions were developed. Second, the item response distribution and item discrimination were examined for 90 infants in the item quality analysis of the preliminary survey. Third, construct validity, official validity, and reliability were confirmed for the 400 infants in the test quality analysis of this study. Results: The media control ability scale was developed with a total of 30 items, including seven items on media planning ability, five items on media execution ability, seven items on media inspection area, and eleven items on media evaluation area. Conclusions: This scale can be regarded as a criterion that can measure young children’s media control ability reliably. Moreover, it can be beneficial for future studies related to media control ability.
