미술영재의 작품 제작과 사고 과정

A Study on Artwork Production and Thinking Process of Art Talented Students

본 연구의 목적은 미술영재가 미술 작품을 제작하는 과정에서 보여주는 사고 과정을 밝히는 것이다. 마치 강물이 흐르듯 흘러가는 생각의 흐름을 조형 언어로 번역한 미술가들의 작품에 담긴 내용과 형식은 사고의 결과다. 본 연구는 기존 미술가의 창의적 사고 과정에 관한 연구 결과를 근거로 미술영재의 작업 과정을 관찰하고, 작업 과정에서 나타난 그들의 경험과 관련된 사고 과정을 분석했다. 분석 결과를 근거로 본 연구에서는 그 과정을 낯설게 보기, 관계 맺기, 시각화하기, 의미와 가치 알기 등의 4단계로 제시했다. 첫째, 낯설게 보기 단계에서는 대상이나 현상을 습관적으로자동화된 인식의 틀로 보는 것이 아니라 새로운 인식의 틀로 본다. 둘째, 관계 맺기 단계에서는 자신과 대상 또는 현상과 새로운 관계를 정립하고 조화와 균형을 이루어 표현 주제를 결정한다. 셋째, 시각화하기 단계에서는 관계 맺기에서 찾은 표현 주제를 표현 매체를 활용해 시각적으로 제작하여 작품의 내용과 형식을 결정한다. 넷째, 의미와 가치 알기 단계에서는 제작 과정에 관여한 의식의 흐름과 자신의 작업에 대해 스스로 평가하고 의미와 가치를 부여한다.

The aim of this study is to reveal art talented students’ thinking processes during their art-making. Content and form in artworks translated their river-like flowing thought into artistic language are the result of the thinking process. This article observed the working process of art talented students based on the professional artist’s creative thinking process and analyzed their thinking process related to their experience. Based on the result about creative thinking processes were categorized into four stages: defamiliarization, making a relationship, visualization, and recognizing of significance. First, defamiliarization regards an object or phenomenon not as a habitually automated framework but as a new framework of perception. Second, making a relationship establishes a new relationship between themselves and an object or environment and determines the topic by harmonizing and balancing the relationship. Third, visualization decides the content and form of an artwork. The topic found in the second stage is visually expressed by appropriate media. Finally, recognizing of significance assesses the stream of consciousness involved in the making process and their artwork, and gives meaning and value to it.
