농인 부모의 청인 자녀 양육행동 관련 요인 탐색

Exploring Factors Related to Parenting of Deaf Parents for CODA: Application of Sequential Design Mixed Research Method

본 연구는 농인 부모의 자녀 양육을 효과적으로 지원하기 위하여 자녀의 다양한 발달 영역에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인인 양육행동에 주목하고, 순차적 탐구 혼합연구 방법을 통해 농인 부모의 양육행동 관련 요인을 탐색하고 검증하였다. 먼저 질적연구로 2회의 초점집단 인터뷰 FGI 및 개별면담을 진행하여 농인 부모의 청인 자녀 양육 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하였고, 이를 토대로 농인 부모의 자녀 양육행동 관련 요인으로 ‘농정체성’, ‘원가족 건강성’, ‘협력적 부부 대처’, ‘사회적 지지’를 도출하였다. 이를 Belsky(1984)의 부모 양육행동 결정요인 과정 모델에 적용하여 연구모형을 구성하고 수어통역센터를 통해 농인 부모 92명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과 첫째 온정·수용 양육행동에는 원가족 건강성, 농정체성 중 이중문화 정체성, 협력적 부부 대처가 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 경우, 농정체성 중 몰입정체성이 높을수록 허용·방임 양육행동을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 원가족 건강성이 낮을수록 부모의 나이가 어릴수록 거부·제재 양육행동을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 농인 부모의 청인 자녀 양육 지원을 위한 이론적, 실천적, 정책적 지원방안들을 제시하였다.

This study focused on parenting, an important factor affecting various developmental areas of children, in order to effectively support the parenting of deaf parents, and explored and verified factors related to parenting of deaf parents through exploratory sequential design. First, through qualitative research, two focus group interviews FGI and individual interviews were conducted to explore the experience of raising children of deaf parents in depth. Based on this, deaf Identity’, ‘family-of-origin health’, ‘common dyadic coping’, and ‘social support’ were derived as factors related to parenting of deaf parents. The research model was constructed by applying this to Belsky(1984)'s process model of determinants of parental parenting behavior and a survey was conducted on 92 deaf parents through the sign language interprete center. The results of the analysis showed that first, the positive effects of family-of-origin health, bicultural identity among the deaf identity, and common dyadic coping were found to be positive. Second, in the case of mothers, the higher the immersion identity among the deaf identity, the more behavior of permissiveness and nonintervention was shown. Finally, the lower family-of-origin health, the younger the parents' age, the more behavior of rejective and restrictive were shown. Based on the results of this study, theoretical, practical and policy support measures for supporting the hearing child parenting of deaf parents were presented.
