사회정의에 대한 보육교사의 관심과 태도 연구

A study of childcare teachers' interests and attitude toward social justice

본 연구는 보육교사를 대상으로 사회정의에 관한 관심과 태도를 알아보고 개인 변인(연령, 학력, 경력, 어린이집 유형)과 사회정의 관련 경험(차별 경험, 교육 유무, 매체접촉)의 영향을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 연구 대상은 서울, 경기지역에 재직 중인 가정, 민간, 국·공립, 직장 어린이집 보육교사 240명이었다. 사회정의의 관심과 태도를 측정하기 위하여 사회정의 이슈 척도와 사회정의 척도를 사용하여 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 보육교사들의 사회정의에 대한 관심과 태도는 중간값보다 높게 나타나 사회정의에 대하여 관심을 가지고 있으며 긍정적 태도를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 개인 변인과 사회정의 관련 경험에 따른 차이는 다음과 같다. 보육교사는 연령이 높을수록, 학력이 높을수록 사회정의에 대한 더 많은 관심과 태도를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 기관 유형의 경우, 가정어린이집의 교사는 다른 집단의 교사보다 낮은 사회정의에 대한 관심과 태도를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 중간경력의 교사들과 사회정의 관련 교육을 받아본 경험과 관련 매체를 자주 접한 교사들일수록 사회정의에 대한 관심과 태도가 높게 나타났다. 보육교사의 개인 변인과 사회정의 관련 경험은 사회정의에 대한 보육교사의 관심과 태도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인임을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 사회정의교육을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 교육 프로그램 개발 시 보육교사의 개인적 요소와 사회정의 관련 경험의 다양성을 고려해야함을 시사한다.

This study was conducted to investigate the interest and attitude of childcare teachers onsocial justice, and to find out the effects of individual variables (age, education, career, type ofdaycare center) and experiences related to social justice (experience of discrimination, relatededucation, media contact). The participants of this study were 240 childcare teachers in Seouland Gyeonggi regions. In order to measure the interest and attitude of social justice, surveyswere conducted using the social justice issue scale and the social justice scale. As a result of thestudy, child care teachers' interest in and attitude toward social justice were higher than themedian, indicating that they were interested in social justice and had a positive attitude. It wasalso found that there was positive relationship between age and interest and attitude towardsocial justice among the teachers. Teachers with the higher the education level shows moreinterest and attitude toward social justice. In addition, results indicate that teachers with midcareerexperience, social justice related education, and exposure to media tend to show moreinterest and attitude toward social justice. Based on the results, it is necessary to understandthe diversity of childcare teachers' personal factors and experiences related to social justice. Itsuggests that development of teacher education program related to social justice is required topromote teachers' competency.
