발달장애 자녀 부모의 양육 부담과 외상 후 성장과의 관계

The relationship between parenting burden and post-traumatic growth of parents of children with developmental disabilities: Multi-mediating effect verification of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and disability acceptance

본 연구의 목적은 Tedeschi & Calhoun(2004)의 외상 후 성장 모델에 근거하여 발달장애 자녀 부모의 양육 부담과 외상 후 성장과의 관계에서 인지적 정서조절전략(적응적 조절전략, 부적응적 조절전략)과 장애수용의 다중매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 분석대상은 만 3세 이상 40세 미만의 발달장애 자녀를 양육하고 있는 부모 200명이다. 분석방법은 SPSS Macro 프로그램인 PROCESS (ver.3.5)를 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 양육 부담은 적응적 조절전략을 매개로 외상 후 성장에 직접적인 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 또한 적응적 조절전략과 장애수용을 순차적으로 매개하여 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미치고 있었다. 둘째, 양육 부담이 부적응적 조절전략을 매개로 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과 양육 부담이 부적응적 조절전략을 매개로 외상 후 성장에 직접적으로 미치는 영향은 발견되지 않았으나, 양육 부담이 부적응적 조절전략과 장애수용을 순차적으로 매개하여 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구결과를 토대로 발달장애 자녀 부모의 외상 후 성장 증진을 위한 제언을 진행하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between parenting burden and post-traumatic growth of parents of children with developmental disabilities, based on Tedeschi and Calhoun’s model of post-traumatic growth (2004). Also, in this relationship, the multi-mediating effect of cognitive emotion regulation strategy (adaptive regulation strategy, maladaptive regulation strategy) and disability acceptance is tested. The subjects of analysis were 200 parents raising children with developmental disabilities between the ages of 3 and 40. The analysis method was analyzed using the SPSS Macro program PROCESS (ver.3.5). The main analysis results are as follows. First, the results showed that parenting burden had a direct effect on post-traumatic growth mediated by adaptive emotional regulation strategy and also had an effect on post-traumatic growth mediated sequentially by adaptive emotional regulation strategy and acceptance of disability. Second, as a result of verifying the effect of parenting burden on post-traumatic growth mediated by maladaptive emotional regulation strategy, parenting burden was found to have no direct effect on post-traumatic growth mediated by the maladaptive emotional regulation strategy. However, parenting burden was found to have an effect on post-traumatic growth, mediated sequentially by maladaptive emotional regulation strategy and acceptance of disability. Therefore, based on the results of this study, policy suggestions were made to promote post-traumatic growth for parents of children with developmental disabilities.
