일반 학교를 졸업한 성인 저시력인의 심리적 성장 과정 탐색

Exploring the Psychological Growth Process of Adults with Low Vision Who Graduated from General Schools

연구 목적: 본 연구는 일반 학교 출신의 저시력 학생의 성장 과정에 미친 영향을 탐색하고 이들의 심리적 성장 과정의 의미를 밝힘으로써 향후 저시력인에 대한 심리사회적 지원을 모색하기 위한 기초자료로 삼고자 하였다. 연구 방법: 일반 학교를 졸업한 저시력 성인 4명의 연구참여자를 확보하여 심층면담을 진행하고 귀납법적 분석 방법으로 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과: 연구 결과는 첫째, ‘집에서는 보여야만 하는 나!’, 둘째, ‘학교에서는 보이지 않아 소외된 나.’, 셋째, ‘꿈꾸지 못하고 갈 길이 보이지 않았던 나’, 넷째, ‘시각장애인들과 만나면서 다시 돌아본 나’, 다섯째, ‘삶을 직면하고 의미를 찾으며 살아가는 나’의 5개의 상위주제와 11개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 결론: 일반 학교 재학시절을 되돌아보고 성인으로서의 장애를 받아들이고 적응하는 과정을 질적연구로 분석하여 살펴봄으로써 시각장애인의 공동체와의 만남의 중요성을 강조하고 일반 학교에 재학 중인 저시력 학생의 심리적 지원 연구를 위한 바탕을 마련하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the effects on the growth process of low-vision students who graduated from general school and to understand their psychological growth process, which may be used as the basic data for measures to provide prospective psychological support for low-vision students. Research Method: Four low-vision adults who graduated from regular school were recruited. There after, in-depth interviews were conducted and the data were analyzed through inductive analysis. Results: The research results were as follows. Five topics were derived, including first, “I should be seen at home!” second, “I was alienated because I couldn't be seen at school” third, “I couldn't dream and couldn't see the way to go” fourth “I looked back while meeting the blind” and fifth, “I face life and find meaning” along with 11 sub-topics. Conclusion: This study has its significance in that by examining the process of low-vision adults reviewing their time at regular school and accepting and adapting to disability as an adult through qualitative research, it placed significant importance on the contact with the visually impaired community and formed the foundation for further research on psychological support for low-vision students studying at general school.
