대학생의 성격강점과 진로적응성의 관계에서 강점활용과 진로정체감의 매개효과

Mediated Effects of Strengths Use and Career Identity in the Relationship between Charter Strength and Career Adaptability of University Students

본 연구는 대학생의 성격강점, 강점활용, 진로정체감과 진로적응성 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 성격강점과 진로적응성의 관계에서 강점활용과 진로정체감의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 대상은 전국의 4년제 대학 대학생 799명이며, 측정도구는 성격강점, 진로적응성, 강점활용, 진로정체감의 네 가지 척도를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 강점활용과 진로정체감이 성격강점과 진로적응성 간의 관계를 매개하는 중다매개모형을 설정하고 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였으며, 자기지향-타인지향 성격강점과 진로적응성의 관계에서 강점활용과 진로정체감의 중다매개효과를 팬텀모형 상에서 Bootstrapping 방법을 적용하여 그 유의성을 검증하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기지향-타인지향 성격강점, 강점활용, 진로정체감 및 진로적응성의 관계는 모두 유의한 정적 상관관계를 지녔다. 둘째, 자기지향-타인지향 성격강점, 강점활용, 진로정체감 및 진로적응성의 관계모형에서 모든 경로계수가 유의한 것으로 나타났으며, 자기지향-타인지향 성격강점과 진로적응성의 관계에서 강점활용의 매개효과와 진로정체감의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 셋째, 자기지향-타인지향 성격강점과 진로적응성 사이에서 강점활용이 진로정체감을 거쳐 진로적응성에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 순차적인 중다매개효과를 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 대학생의 진로적응성을 향상시키는데 영향을 미치는 변인들의 관계를 확인하여 대학생을 위한 진로교육 프로그램 개발에 필요한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있었다.

This research examines the relationship between character strength, strengths use, career identity and career adaptability of university students, and confirms the meditating effects of strengths use and career identity in the relationship between character strength and career adaptability. The subjects were 799 students from four-year universities. Four measurements tool were used: character strength, strengths use, career identity and career adaptability. A correlation analysis of the collected data was then conducted. A structural equation model was used to indicate the mediating effects. The significance of the mediating effect and multiple mediating effects was verified using the bootstrapping method of a phantom model approach. Results of the research are as follows. First, there was a positive relationship among self-oriented and other-oriented character strengths, strengths use, career identity, and career adaptability of university students. The higher their self-oriented and other-oriented character strengths were, the stronger the level of their strengths use, career identity, and career adaptability. Second, in respect to the relationship among self-oriented and other-oriented character strengths and career adaptability, strengths use and career identity had significant mediating effects. Third, strengths use went through the career identity and had subsequent multiple mediating effects on career adaptability in the relationships between self-oriented and other-oriented character strengths and career adaptability. Through this study, it was possible to identify significant variables in improving the career adaptability of university students and to provide necessary basic data for the development of career education programs for university students.
