중학생이 지각한 학교적응과 학업성취의 관계에서 삶의 만족도 및 학업 효능감의 중다매개효과

Multiple Mediated Effects of Life Satisfaction and Academic Efficacy in the Relationship between School Adjustment and Academic Achievement Perceived by Middle School Students

본 연구의 목적은 학교적응과 학업성취 간의 관계에서 삶의 만족도와 학업효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 한국아동･청소년 패널조사 2018의 1차년도 조사에 참여한 중학교 1 패널 자료를 토대로 총 2,433명의 자료를 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 연구결과를 보면, 학교적응이 삶의 만족과 학업 효능감에 미치는 직접적인 효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 학교적응이 학업성취에 미치는 직접적인 효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았으나 삶의 만족 및 학업 효능감을 매개로 학업 성취도에 단일 혹은 다중 간접효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 결과를 토대로 부모-가정요인에 따른 국가적 수준의 학업성취 양극화를 완화하기 위해서 청소년의 학업성취에 핵심적 영향을 미치는 학교적응 수준을 높이고 삶의 만족 수준 및 학업 효능감의 개인 내적 변인을 증진 시킬 수 있는 국가 및 학교 차원의 개입 필요성을 시사하고 정책적 방안을 제안하였다.

This study analyzed the structural relationship among school adjustment, life satisfaction, academic efficacy, and academic achievement in first grade middle school students and to test the multiple mediating effect of life satisfaction and academic efficacy in relationships. The relationships among school adjustment, life satisfaction, academic efficacy, and academic achievement was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). After the model fit was verified, the statistical significance of the relationship among the variables was verified, and the multiple mediating effect of life satisfaction and academic efficacy was verified using bootstrapping. It was found that school adjustment was positively correlated with life satisfaction and academic efficacy but was not a direct effect of academic achievement. It was also confirmed that school adjustment indirectly explained academic achievement through life satisfaction and academic efficacy. This study confirmed that school adjustment, life satisfaction, and academic efficacy should be taken into consideration to help adolescents’ academic achievement.
