주대周代의 올빼미 이미지 고찰

In this paper, we explored into the image of owl during the Zhou dynasty by examining the poems in Shi Jing(the Book of Odes) in which the owls are shown. We then suggested the background for the fall of the owl image since the Zhou dynasty. We could find that the image of owl during the Zhou dynasty was mostly the negative ones like shabbiness, degradation, contempt, disgust, etc, which seem to be attributed to the cultural and political transformation caused by the replacement of Shang by Zhou.
