Development and Effects of Smart-based Hip-hop Music Maker Class Program STARS

이 연구는 학생들의 흥미도와 참여도를 제고하고 교과역량을 기를 수 있도록 AI를 활용한 스마트 기반의 힙합음악 메이커 수업 프로그램(STARS)을 개발하고 그 효용을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 연구는 힙합음악 메이커(Maker) 수업을 위해, 메이커 스페이스를 구축하고, 메이커 모형의 주요 요소를 재구성하여 ‘기획(Strategy)’, ‘팀조직(Teamwork)’,‘만들기(Action)’, ‘평가(Review)’, ‘공유(Sharing)’의 5단계로 이루어진‘STARS’의 음악창작 수업모형을 개발하였다. 연구 대상은 서울 Y구의 공립중학교 2학년 160명을 대상으로 2021년 8월부터 10월까지 12차시에 걸쳐 창작수업 프로그램을 적용하였다. 프로그램의 효과를 논의하기 위하여 혼합연구방법을 사용하였으며, 학생 160명을 대상으로 음악교과 흥미도, 효능감, 교과역량을 대응표본 t검정으로 사전사후를 측정하였다. 이 연구의 결과, 이 프로그램에 참여한 학생들의 음악만들기 영역은 학생들의 흥미도·효능감·교과역량을 향상시켰으며, 이점에서 메이커 기반의 창작수업 프로그램이 학생들의 사회적 문제에 깊이 공감하고, 또한 공동체적 음악창작활동을 통해 사회에 가치 있는 것을 설계하고 창조하고 개선시킬 수 있는 가능성을 확인시켜 주었다.

This study is aimed to develop a hip-hop music maker class program (STARS) that enhances students’ interests and participation and cultivates their competency in the music class with the use of smart devices using AI and to verify its usefulness. For the hip-hop music maker class, it constructed a maker space, restructured key elements of a maker model, and developed a “STARS” musical creation class model that consisted of five steps―Strategy, Teamwork, Action, Review, and Sharing. The subject was 160 second graders in public middle school in Y-gu, Seoul, and the class program from lesson 1 to 12 was applied to their classes from August 2021 to October 2021. Mixed method research was used to discuss the effect of the program, and the 160 students’ interest in music class, efficacy, and competency in music class were measured before and after the program was applied with a paired t-test. According to the results, the music creation area improved the participants’ interest in music class, efficacy, and competency in music class, which shows that maker-based creation class programs deeply relate to students’ social problems and that there is a possibility of designing, creating, and improving valuable things in society through communal music creation activities.
