조부모-손자녀 친밀감과 연령주의(Ageism)의 관계에서 노인 이미지의 매개효과 검증

The Mediating Effect of the Image of the Elderly in the Relation between Grandparents-Grandchildren Intimacy and Ageism: Focusing on the Upper Grades in Elementary School

본 연구는 조부모-손자녀 친밀감과 연령주의(노화 인식, 노인차별 인식 및 태도, 노인차별 행동)의 관계에서 노인 이미지의 매개효과를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 본 조사는 판단표본추출방법을 사용하여 경기도 총 10개 초등학교의 5~6학년 아동을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 최종 446부를 분석에 활용하였다. 연구결과, 조부모-손자녀 친밀감과 연령주의의 관계에서 노인 이미지는 부분매개효과를 보였다. 조부모-손자녀 친밀감과 노인차별 인식 및 태도의 관계에서 노인 이미지는 부분매개효과를 보였고, 조부모-손자녀 친밀감과 노인차별 행동의 관계에서 노인 이미지는 완전매개효과를 보였다. 이상과 같은 연구결과를 토대로 아동들의 노인에 대한 이미지 및 인식개선과 연령주의를 예방하기 위한 실천적⋅정책적 함의를 제시하였다.

This study is to verify the mediating effect of the image of the elderly in the relation between grandparents-grandchildren intimacy and ageism (perception of aging, perception and attitudes on the discrimination against the elderly, discriminating behaviors against the elderly). This survey was conducted among 5th to 6th graders in elementary schools in Gyeonggi-do using the judgment sampling method, and 446 copies were finally used for analysis. As a result, in the relation between grandparents-grandchildren intimacy and ageism, the image of the elderly showed partial mediating effect. In the relation between grandparents-grandchildren intimacy and perception and attitudes on the discrimination against the elderly, the image of the elderly showed partial mediating effect, and the image of the elderly showed full mediating effect in the relation between grandparents-grandchildren intimacy and discriminating behaviors against the elderly. Based on the results of this study, the practical and policy implications were presented to improve the image and perception of the elderly and prevent ageism.
