예비 역사 교사의 생태 리터러시 증진을 위한 커리큘럼 개발

Creating a curriculum to promote ‘ecological literacy’ of prospective history teachers

기후위기가 심화됨에 따라 위기에 대응하고 이를 타개하기 위한 교육계의 고심도 커지고 있다. 생태전환교육은 성장과 발전을 중요시해왔던 근대 교육을 반성하고 교육의 생태문명적 전환을 모색하기 위한 시도이다. 생태 리터러시는 생태전환교육을 구체화하기 위한 방법론으로서 이때 역사적 시선은 생태환경 문제의 기원과 변화의 과정을 읽어내어 그 본질을 파악하는데 유용하다. 역사교육에서 생태환경의 시선을 담기 위한 논의와 실천은 이제 막 시작되었다. 논의의 전제는 생태 시민, 생태적 역량을 지닌 시민으로서 학생의 자기 형성에 역사교육의 역할을 모색하는 것이다. 생태환경이 교육 및 역사교육의 중요한 의제로 등장한 상황에서 예비 역사교사 양성 과정에서도 생태환경의 문제와 생태환경사를 다룰 필요가 있다. 본고는 사범대 역사과 교과교육과정 속에 생태환경사 교육 커리큘럼을 구성할 때 그 방향과 내용을 제안하였다.

The role of education in responding to the climate crisis is becoming more important. Ecological transformation education emerged reflecting on modern education, which had considered growth and development important. ‘ecological literacy’ is a methodology for embodying ecological transformation education. At this time, the historical perspective helps to read the origins and changes of the ecological environment problem. Recently, discussions on the history of ecological environment have also begun in history education. The premise of the discussion is ‘what role can history education play’ in growing students into ecological citizens and citizens with ecological competence. With the ecological environment emerging as an important topic for education and history education, the “ecological environment history curriculum for prospective history teachers” is needed. This article proposed the direction and content of the curriculum.
