The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating role of active stress coping in the relationship between mindfulness and well-being of college students. The subjects were 250 college students enrolled in 4-year universities in Gyeonggi Province, and the data was collected through an online survey. In this study, the mental health continuum-short form (MHC-SF), which consists of emotional, social, and psychological well-being, was used to examine the well-being of college students. In addition, the survey was conducted using the mindfulness scale and the Korean version of the coping strategy indicator (K-CSI). The findings are as follows: First, active stress coping partially mediated the effect of mindfulness on emotional well-being. Second, the effects of mindfulness on social as well as psychological well-being were significant only through the active stress coping. This study is meaningful because it examined the significant role of active stress coping in the relationship between mindfulness and well-being of college students. Based on the results, the implications of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
