학생 주도성의 의미와 교육의 방향

A Study on the Meaning of Student Agency and the Direction of Education

이 연구에서는 학생 주도성 교육 담론의 본격화·체계화를 위해 학생 주도성의 개념과 요소를 상세화하고, 학생 주도성 계발을 위한 교육의 방향을 제안하였다. 학생 주도성의 개념과 특성, 그 교육에 대한 선행연구를 종합적으로 고찰하여, 학생 주도성을 ‘학생이 자신과 세계에 대하여 영향력을 행사하고자 학습의 설계 및 실행 전반에 의도적으로 관여하는 등 학습 주체로서의 역할을 책임감 있게 실행하는 실천 능력’으로 정의하였으며, ‘선택, 책임, 학생 목소리, 협력’을 구성 요소로 제시하였다. 또한 학생 주도성 계발을 위한 교육의 방향을 학생 주도성의 4가지 요소를 신장시키기 위한 차원과 학생 주도성 계발의 조건을 충족시키기 위한 차원에서 마련하였다.

The purpose of this study is to prepare and systematize educational discourse on student agency. To this end, based on comprehensively examining previous studies on the concepts and characteristics of student agency, the concepts and elements of student agency were presented and the direction of education was proposed to develop student agency. Specifically, student agency is defined as “the ability of a student to responsibly execute his/her role as a learning agent, including intentionally engaged in the overall design and implementation of learning in order to exert influence on himself/herself and the world.” In addition, four components of student agency were presented: selection, responsibility, student voice, and cooperation. Finally, the direction of education for the development of student agency was prepared to enhance the four elements of student agency and to satisfy the conditions for developing student agency.
