결혼이주여성의 검정고시 학습 경험과 과제

Married immigrant women’s learning experience and tasks for qualification examinations

본 연구는 결혼이주여성의 검정고시 학습 프로그램 참여 경험을 통해 동기, 경험 내용과 변화를 고찰하고 검정고시 학습 경험이 지닌 본질적 의미를 규명하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 학령별로 학위를 취득한 5명의 결혼이주여성들과 심층 면담이 진행되었고, 수집된 자료는 질적연구방법을 통해 분석되었다. 분석 결과 결혼이주여성들의 검정고시 학습 동기는 ‘무용지물인 고국의 학력’을 가진 어머니들이 ‘아이들을 위한 선택’이었고, 이들은 ‘각오와 응원으로 이겨낸 고난의 행진’을 겪은 후 ‘사고의 전환과정’과 ‘인간관계가 성장함’이라는 긍정적인 변화를 보여주었다, 이러한 총체적인 경험의 의미는 ‘희망의 사다리를 오르기 위한 이주국의 압축적인 재교육화’라 명명되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 하는 검정고시 학습 프로그램의 확대 필요성 및 운영방안을 과제로 제시하였다.

The purposes of this study are to find married immigrant women’s motivation, experiences, and changes after their participation in the learning program for qualification examinations, and to define the essential meaning of the learning experience for qualification examinations. To achieve them, in-depth interview was conducted with five married immigrant women who took a degree by school age. The collected data were analyzed in qualitative research method. These married immigrant women’s learning motivation for qualification examinations was ‘the choice for their children’ of the mothers whose ‘education in their mother country is good for nothing’. After ‘overcoming a march of hardship through their resolution and support, they had positive changes as ‘a change of thought’ and ‘development of interpersonal relationship’, Such overall experience means the immigrant country’s compact re-training for climbing up the ladder of hope’. Based on the study results, this research proposed the necessity for the expansion of the qualification examination learning program for married immigrant women and an operation plan for the program.
