한국 다문화사회에 대한 인식 개선방향 고찰

본 연구는 한국 다문화사회에 대한 인식 개선방향에 대하여 심도 있게 분석함으로써, 한국 다문화 사회에 나타난 문제점을 확인하고 개선방향을 제시하는 데에 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 S시에 살고 있는 시민 4명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하고, Colaizzi의 현상학적질적 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 고정관념 및 편견으로부터의 인식전환, 둘째, 대중매체에서 다문화에 대한 올바른 내용 전달, 셋째, 교육을 통한 효과 기대, 넷째, 정책의 패러다임 변화, 다섯째, 다양성을 포용하는 문화 정착으로 나타났다. 한국 다문화 사회에 대한 인식 개선을 위해서는 보다 선도적이고 적극적인 지역사회의 관심과 참여, 국가·지자체 및 관련 지원기관 등의 체계적인 행정관리 시스템이 필요함을 파악하였으며, 다문화에 대한 올바른 인식의 전환을 위해 사회 전체의 노력이 전제되어야 한다는 시사점을 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구는 향후 한국 다문화사회에 대한 인식 개선방향 기초자료를 제공하며, 정착에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

The purpose of this study was to identify problems in Korea's multicultural society and suggest ways to improve it by making an in-depth analysis of the direction of improving perception of Korea's multicultural society. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four citizens living in the S city, and analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological qualitative method. The results of this study showed that, first, there was a shift in perception from stereotypes and prejudices. Second, there was the mass media which conveying correct contents about multiculturalism. Third, there was an expectation of effectiveness through education. Fourth, there was a paradigm shift in policy. Fifth, there was the establishment of a culture that embraces diversity. This study is significant in that it identified the need for more proactive community interest and participation, a systematic administrative management system including national and local governments and related support organizations, to improve the perception of Korea's multicultural society, and provided the suggestion that the entire society should make efforts to change the perception of multiculturalism. This study provides a basis for improving the perception of Korea's multicultural society in the future and may contribute to its settlement.
