초중등 학생의 전기기구의 에너지와 관련된 질문 분석

Curiosity of Elementary and Secondary School Students Toward Electrical Appliances from the Energy Perspective

본 연구의 목적은 초중등 학생이 가정에서 사용하는 전기기구에 대해 에너지 관점에서 어떤 궁금증을 갖고 있는지 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 초등학생 73명, 중학생 153명, 고등학생 124명으로부터 받은 전기기구의 에너지 관점에 대한 질문 959개를 분석하였다. 전기기구는 대형 가전(냉장고, 세탁기/건조기), 주방가전(전자레인지, 인덕션 레인지, 에어프라이어, 전기밥솥), 영상 통신 가전(스마트폰, 텔레비전), 생활 가전(헤어드라이기, 다리미, 전등) 등의 11종이었고, ‘원리’, ‘일반’, ‘영향’, ‘안전’, ‘수명’ 등의 범주로 분석하였으며, 전기기구의 에너지 사용에 ‘영향’을 주는 요인은 전기기구의 특성에 따라 세부 범주로 구분하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 에너지 관련 질문이 가장 많은 전기기구는 스마트폰, 냉장고, 전등 등의 순이었다. 둘째, 분석 범주별로 살펴보았을 때, 전기기구의 에너지 소모에 ‘영향’을 주는 요인에 대한 질문이 전체의 45.6%로 가장 많았다. 셋째, 전기기구의 에너지 소모에 영향을 주는 요인은 전기기구에 따라 다양하게 나타났으며, 전기기구의 사용 방법과 관련이 깊었다. 넷째, 질문의 수준은 학교급에 따라 차이가 있었는데, 고등학생이 과학적인 개념을 이용한 ‘영향’과 관련된 차원이 높은 질문을 많이 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the kind of curiosity elementary and middle school students have about electrical appliances used at home from an energy viewpoint. For this purpose, 959 questions received from 73 elementary school students, 153 middle school students, and 124 high school students about the energy of electric appliances were analyzed. Electric appliances, which include large home appliances (refrigerator, washer/dryer), kitchen appliances, video communication devices, household appliances (hair dryer, iron, lamps), were analyzed in categories, such as 'principle', 'general', 'impact', 'safety', and 'lifespan'. Based on to the characteristics of the instrument, it was divided into different categories and analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. The electric appliances with the most energy-related questions were smartphones, refrigerators, and lights, respectively. Based on the category of analysis, questions about the factors that influence the energy consumption of electrical appliances were the most frequent at 45.6%. Factors affecting the energy consumption of electrical appliances varied according to the type of appliance and were closely related to the method of using the appliance. There was a difference in the level of the question depending on the school level; high school students had several high-level questions related to 'influence' using scientific concepts.
