이 연구는 비고츠키의 저서 『아동의 상상력과 창조』(1930)를 기초 자료로 하여, 비고츠키의 아동의 창조 활동에 관한 탐구를 분석하고 현대 창의성 이론의 흐름에서 비고츠키의 아동의 창조성에 관한 이론이 지닌 의의와 한계를 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과 비고츠키의 아동의 창조에 관한 탐구는 아직 이 분야의 본격적인 연구가 충분히 이루어지지 않았던 초창기의 연구이지만 오늘날의 연구자들이 연구하여야 할 연구의 기초 개념, 범위, 방법 등을 제시해 주는 것이었으며, 앞으로의 연구가 나아가야 할 방향을 제시해 주고 있다. 비고츠키의 『아동의 상상력과 창조』에는 현대 창의성 이론가들이 말하고 있는 창조의 개념과 아동의 정서와 상상력과 창조의 매카니즘 뿐만 아니라 현대 창의성 이론가들이 논의하고 있는 창의성에 관한 선구적인 내용들이 많이 포함되어 있다.
This study analyzes Vygotsky’s research in creative activities of children on the basis of his book Imagination and Creativity in Children(1930), and presents the significance and limitations of his theory according to the view of modern creativity theory. I dealt with the following questions : What is the characteristic and definition of his discussion on creative activities of children? What process do children go through to show creativity? Vygotsky’s theory of imagination and creativity in children includes the meaning, mechanism, and pioneering contents of child imagination and creativity, which is discussed by modern creativity theorists. Vygotsky’s research provided a wider scope in creativity research and its expansion, and especially, the model of social psychiatric approach to creativity is very similar to Vygotsky’s theory.
