본 연구는 육아정책연구소의 한국아동패널조사(Panel Study of Korean Children) 데이터 중 4차년도(2011) 사용된 표현어휘력 검사(REVT-E)에서 남아와 여아 집단에게 유리 또는 불리한 차별기능문항(differential item functioning:DIF)을 추출하고 추출된 차별기능문항이 발생한 원인을 밝히고자 하였다. Raju(1988)의 문항특성곡선(item characteristic curve) 간의 면적 계산방법을 사용하여 성별 간에 차별적으로 기능하는 문항을 분석하였다. 분석결과에 따르면, 표현어휘력 검사에서 2문항(27번, 55번)의 차별기능문항이 추출되었다. 추출된 차별기능문항 2문항 중 1문항(55번 문항)은 남아에게, 1문항(27번 문항)은 여아에게 유리한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 성별에 따른 차별기능문항 추출의 원인이 검사문항의 결함인지 혹은 검사할 당시의 다른 요인에 의한 차별기능문항이 추출된 것인지에 대한 명확한 원인규명이 필요하며, 추출된 차별기능문항에 대하여 평가, 내용, 교육과정에 근거하여 차별기능문항의 원인을 규명하여 실제 교육 현장에서 특정집단에게 유리하거나 불리하지 않은 공정한 검사 도구를 만들어야 한다는 시사점을 제공한다.
The purpose of this study was to detect differently functioned item on expressive vocabulary between male and female young children and explain cause of Differential Item Function about them detected. Data for this study were obtained from the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC). To detect differently functioned items, the Item Characteristics Curve (Raju, 1988) was employed. For Raju method, three-parameter logistic model was selected. Signed and Unsigned Area between two item characteristics curves were measured within the real ability range. An item which was detected commonly by SA and UA area in Raju method was defined as a differential Item Functioning(DIF). From the results, two items among fifty five items were differently functioned item: item 27 and item 55 were identified as a DIF. One item (the item 55) was in favor of boys and the other(the item 27) was in favor of girls. Results of the study showed that REVT-E had differently functioned items caused by gender. In conclusion, it is desirable to consider the differently functioned items related to gender difference when using the REVT-E to assess expressive vocabulary abilities for young children.
