청소년의 SNS에서의 자기표현 욕구가 사회적 실재감에 미치는 영향 : 이모티콘 사용의 매개효과

The Effect of Adolescents’ Desire for Self-Expression on SNS on Their Social Presence : Mediating Effect of Using Emoticon

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 SNS에서의 자기표현 욕구와 사회적 실재감의 관계에서 이모티콘 사용의 매개효과를 확인하는 데 있다. 연구 문제는 첫째, 청소년의 SNS에서의 자기표현 욕구, 사회적 실재감, 이모티콘 사용 간의 상관은 어떠한가? 둘째, 청소년의 SNS에서의 자기표현 욕구가 이모티콘 사용을 경유하여 사회적 실재감에 영향을 미치는가? 이다. 본 연구에서는 B시와 G시의 중·고등학교에 재학 중인 503명을 대상으로 자기표현 욕구, 사회적 실재감, 이모티콘 사용을 측정하는 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이 중 설문조사에서 극단의 이상치 또는 이상치 응답을 보인 것으로 판단되는 22부를 제외한 총 481부의 자료를 SPSS 27.0과 AMOS 28.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 매개모형으로 청소년의 SNS에서의 자기표현 욕구가 사회적 실재감에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 동시에 이모티콘 사용을 거쳐 간접적인 영향을 미칠 것이라는 연구모형을 설정하였다. 구조모형을 검증한 결과 연구모형은 적합한 것으로 검증되었다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 자기표현 욕구, 사회적 실재감, 이모티콘 사용 간에는 모두 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 자기표현 욕구는 사회적 실재감에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 청소년의 자기표현 욕구와 사회적 실재감 사이에서 이모티콘 사용의 부분매개효과를 검증하였다. 이러한 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서의 의의 및 청소년의 사회적 실재감 향상을 위한 시사점을 논의하고 후속 연구를 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to confirm the mediating effect of emoticon use in the relationship between the desire for self-expression in adolescents' SNS and social presence. The research question is first, What is the correlation between adolescents’desire for self-expression on SNS, social presence, and using emotion? second, does adolescent’ desire for self-expression on SNS affect social presence through the use of emoticon? In this study, 503 middle and high schools in cities B and G were surveyed to measure self-expression desire, social presence and emoticon use. Among them, a total of 481 questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 28.0, excluding 22 copies judged to have shown extreme outliers or outliers in the survey. The mediating model was established as a research model that adolescents' desire for self-expression on SNS would have a direct effect on their social presence and at the same time indirectly through the use of emoticon. As a result of verifying the structural model, the research model was verified to be suitable. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that there was a significant correlation between adolescents' desire for self-expression, social presence and emoticon use. Second, it was confirmed that adolescents' desire for self-expression had a positive effect on their sense of social presence. Third, the partial mediating effect of emoticon use between adolescents' desire for self-expression and social presence was verified. Based on these results, the significance of this study and implications for improving the social presence of adolescents were discussed, and follow-up studies were suggested.
