교과과정과 비교과 과정의 연계 사례 연구: 토론대회를 중심으로

A Case Study on Linking Curriculum and Extracurricular Courses - Focusing on Debate Contest -

본 연구는 비교과 토론대회와 ‘비판적 사고와 말하기’ 교과과정의 연계 효과를 분석하고 교과과정의 설계와 비교과 활동 간의 시너지 효과를 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 교과목 효과성 검증을 분석하여 비교과 토론대회와 교과과정의 연계가 역동적 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 연계는 교과과정에서 획득한 지식과 역량을 실제 시나리오로 전환할 기회를 학습자에게 제공한다. 특히 비교과 활동에서 저글링 딜레마를 완화하려면, 비교과 과정과 정규 커리큘럼 사이에 더 나은 연계와 통합을 설정하는 것이 중요하다. 즉 광범위한 교육 체제 내에서 정규 커리큘럼의 결과와 개별 비교과 경험의 내재적 가치를 연계시켜 더 응집력 있고 조화로운 접근 방식을 기획하는 일이다. 토론대회의 참여는 교과과정의 현실성과 가치를 강화함으로써 교과에 대한 학습자의 이해와 동기를 심화시켰다. 교육 내용과 토론대회 논제를 연계하고, 학습자의 주제발표를 활용하여 토론 논제를 이해하며, 토론대회를 통해 얻은 인사이트 등을 근거로 교과과정을 개선하는 선순환 구조를 구축하였다. 즉 비교과 토론대회에서 얻은 통찰력을 바탕으로 커리큘럼에 대한 지속적인 개선이 제시된 것이다. 획일적인 강의 평가를 넘어 학습자의 합리적인 요구를 반영하는 피드백 중심의 커리큘럼 관리 방식을 채택한다면, 교과-비교과 통합 교육 방식의 지속적인 향상에 이바지할 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문은 교과과정의 효과성 분석을 통해 교과 설계와 비교과 연계의 피드백 효과에 관해 연구한다. 연구 결과로서 연계의 긍정성과 상호작용의 효과성을 도출하였다. 교육 과정과 토론대회 논제의 연계, 토론 논제 이해를 위한 학습자 주제발표 활용, 토론대회를 통해 얻은 인사이트를 교육 과정 개선을 위해 활용 등은 선순환 구조의 주요 요소이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the linkage effect between the extracurricular debate contest and the ‘critical thinking and speaking’ curriculum, and to seek synergy effects between curriculum design and extracurricular activities. This study analyzed the verification of curriculum effectiveness and confirmed that the link between the extracurricular debate contest and the curriculum has a dynamic effect. This connection provides learners with the opportunity to call upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the curriculum to real-world scenarios. To alleviate the dilemma of juggling between extracurricular activities, it is important to establish better linkages and integration between extracurricular courses and the formal curriculum. This involves designing a more cohesive and harmonious approach within the broader education system by linking the outcomes of the regular curriculum with the intrinsic value of individual extracurricular experiences. Participation in the debate competition deepened learners’ understanding and motivation for the subject by reinforcing the relevance and value of the curriculum. A virtuous cycle structure was established, wherein the educational content and the debate topic were linked, learners’ presentations were utilized to enhance subject understanding, and the curriculum was improved based on insights gained through the debate. In other words, continuous improvement of the curriculum was proposed, leveraging insights obtained from interdisciplinary debate competitions. By adopting a feedback-centered curriculum management approach that surpasses uniform course evaluation and reflects learners’ reasonable needs, we can contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the integrated education method that combines curriculum and extracurricular elements.This paper studies the feedback effects of curriculum design and comparison and linkage through curriculum effectiveness analysis. As a result of the study, the positivity of the linkage and the effectiveness of the interaction were derived. The linkage of curriculum and debate tournament topics, the use of learners’ topic presentations to understand the debate topics, and the use of insights gained through the debate tournament to improve the curriculum are the main elements of the virtuous cycle.
