만 2세 슬기반 영아들의 놀이양상과 교사 지원양상에 관한 문화기술적 연구

Play and Teacher Support Patterns for 2-year-olds at a Daycare Center: An Ethnographic Study

본 연구는 만 2세반 놀이 양상과 만 2세반 교사의 놀이지원 양상을 살펴봄으로써 놀이중심 보육과정 실행 과정에서의 영아 놀이지원의 방향성을 모색하고자 문화기술적 연구방법으로 수행되었다. 만 2세반 교사 1명과 만 2세 영아 5명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여, 2022년 3월 14일∼9월 30일까지 약 29주 동안 참여관찰과 교사면담, 영아와 관련한 자료 등을 자료로 수집하고 범주화하였다. 연구결과, 만 2세 슬기반 영아들의 놀이 양상은 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 영아들은 자신들에게 친숙한 놀잇감으로 자주 놀이하는 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 새롭게 나타난 공간을 흥미로워하고 새로운 공간에서 새로운 놀이로 이어가는 양상이 나타났다. 셋째, 슬기반에서는 교사와 영아가 서로 애칭을 부르며 놀이하는 모습을 보였다. 만 2세반 윤교사의 놀이지원 양상을 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영아들이 선호하는 놀이를 할 때, 비슷한 놀잇감으로 변화시켜 지원하는 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 주변에서 볼 수 있는 개방적 놀이재료를 지속적으로 지원하였다. 셋째, 멀티공간과 놀잇감트레이를 활용하여 놀이를 지원하는 양상이 나타났다. 본 연구는 만 2세반 영아들의 놀이 양상과 교사의 놀이지원 양상이 하루일과 안에서 어떻게 나타나는지를 심층적으로 이해하기 위한 사례를 구체적으로 제시한 점에서 의미가 있으며, 영아의 풍부한 놀이를 위한 교사의 지원노력이 필요하다는 점을 시사하였다.

This study used ethnographic research to explore play and teacher support patterns in a two-year-old curriculum at a daycare center. One class teacher and five two-year-olds were selected as research participants, with the research involving participatory observation, teacher interviews, and infant-related data. The analysis of the infant play patterns found that the infants frequently engaged in play with familiar toys, showed interest in newly introduced spaces and continued to play in these new spaces, and both the teacher and infants played together using nicknames. The analysis of the teacher play support patterns found that the teacher provided support by introducing similar toys when the infants were engaged in their preferred play activities, provided open ended, visible, and accessible play materials to the infants, and utilized multiple spaces and toy trays to support the play activities. This study was meaningful in that it provided specific cases to gain a deep understanding of how the play patterns of 2-year-old children and their teacher’s play support patterns appear within the daily routine of the 2-year old class. Also this study indicated the importance of teachers' efforts in supporting infants' rich play experiences.
