2022 개정 교육과정의 변화 : 국어과와 사회과의 민주시민 교육과 생태소양 교육을 중심으로

The Changes in the 2022 National Curriculum: Focusing on Democratic citizenship Education and Ecoliteracy Education in Korean Language and Social Studies

이 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정 총론의 개정 중점 사항 가운데에서 향후 우리 교육의 중요한 내용이 될 것으로 예상되는 ‘민주시민 교육’과 ‘생태소양 교육’이 국어과와 사회과 교육과정에 구현된 양상을 살펴보고, 그러한 변화가 구체적으로 어떻게 실현될 수 있을지 그 가능성을 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 2022 개정 교육과정 총론이 추구한 개정 중점들을 검토하고, 이러한 총론의 변화가 국어과와 사회과에 어떻게 반영되었는지 살펴보았다. 그리고 이 과정에서 ‘민주시민 교육’과 ‘생태소양 교육’의 두 부분에서 국어과와 사회과의 연계 가능성을 모색하였다. 향후 다양한 방식의 협업, 팀티칭, 융합수업 등의 방법을 통해 국어과와 사회과의 연계 교육이 활성화된다면, 범교과학습의 주제들이 교육 현장에 활발하게 다루어질 수 있을 것이며, 궁극적으로 총론에서 지향하고 있는 핵심 역량 및 2022 개정 교육과정의 중요 지향점들이 보다 수월하게 성취될 수 있을 것이다.

This study examines the implementation of ‘Democratic Citizenship Education’ and ‘Ecoliteracy Education’, which are key focuses of the General guidelines of the 2022 National Curriculum, in Korean language and Social studies curricula. It aims to explore the possibilities of how such changes can be realized in a concrete manner. To achieve this, the study examines the revised key focuses and core competencies presented in the General guidelines and how these changes have been reflected in Korean language and Social studies curricula. Additionally, it explores the possibility and methods of integrating or combining the contents of ‘democratic citizenship education’ or ‘ecoliteracy education’ between Korean language and Social studies subjects. If collaborative approaches, team teaching, and convergence class are actively employed to promote interdisciplinary education between Korean language and Social studies, it is anticipated that cross-curricular themes will be extensively addressed in educational settings. Furthermore, such lessons will ultimately align with the emphasized aspects in the general guidelines of the 2022 National Curriculum, leading to positive effects on learners’ development of key competencies.
