어머니애착 및 학습에 대한 부모참여가 초등학교 아동의 학교적응에 미치는 영향: 학업적 자기효능감의 매개효과 검증

The Effect of Maternal Attachment and Parental Involvement in Education on Children’s School Adaptation: The Mediating Effect of Academic Self-efficacy

초등학교 아동의 학업중단율이 매년 높아지고 있고 상당수가 학교적응에 어려움을 갖고 있다. 본 연구는 어머니애착 및 학습에 대한 부모참여와 초등학교 아동의 학교적응 간의 관계에서 학업적 자기효능감의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 육아정책연구소의 ｢한국아동 성장발달 종단연구: 한국 아동패널(PSKC)｣12차년도 초등학교 5학년 1,281명(남아 662명, 여아 619명)을 연구대상으로 하였다. 구조방정식모형을 분석한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니애착은 학업적 자기효능감 및 학교적응에 유의한 영향을 미치고, 학습에 대한 부모참여는 학업적 자기효능감 및 학교적응에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 학업적 자기효능감은 학교적응에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니애착이 초등학교 아동의 학교적응에 미치는 영향은 아동의 학업적 자기효능감을 통하여 유의미한 간접효과를 보였고, 학습에 대한 부모참여가 아동의 학교적응에 미치는 영향은 아동의 학업적 자기효능감을 통하여 유의미한 간접효과를 보였다. 본 연구는 초등학교 아동의 학교적응을 높이기 위해서는 부모를 대상으로 애착과 학습참여에 대한 부모교육과 더불어, 아동의 학업적 자기효능감을 높일 수 있는 지원 방안 모색이 필요함을 시사한다.

Many elementary school students have difficulty adjusting to school, with the rate of suspension of elementary school students increasing every year. This study attempts to examine the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy in the relationship between maternal attachment, parental involvement in education and children's school adaptation. For this purpose, 1,281 fifth graders(662 boys and 619 girls) in the 12th year data from Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC) were studied. The results of the study analyzing the structural equation model are as follows. First, maternal attachment has a significant impact on academic self-efficacy and school adaptation, parental involvement in learning has a significant impact on academic self-efficacy and school adaptation, and academic self-efficacy has a significant impact on school adaptation. Second, the impact of maternal attachment on children's school adaptation showed a significant indirect effect through children's academic self-efficacy, and the impact of parental involvement in learning on children's school adaptation showed a significant indirect effect through children's academic self-efficacy. This study suggests that maternal attachment, parental involvement in learning, and children's academic self-efficacy should be taken into consideration to help elementary school students better adapt to their school life.
