시민연극이 지닌 사회적 역할로서 발달장애인 평생교육의 가능성

본 연구는 시민연극이 지닌 사회적 역할로서 발달장애인 평생교육의 가능성을 알아보는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 발달장애인 평생교육 현장에서 참여적 실행연구 방법을 사용하여 연극 활동을 하면서 경험한 실패와 새롭게 발견한 것들을 사례를 통해 살펴 보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 발달장애인은 모든 연극활동에서 주체가 되길 원했다. 기존의 사회질서에서 주로 타자화된 삶을 살던 발달장애인은 연극무대에서만큼은 자신의 시선과 생각, 삶의 경험을 적극적으로 표현하고 싶어했다. 둘째, 연극 활동은 발달장애인의 공동체성을 회복시켰다. 연극활동은 상호관계의 역동 속에서 다양한 구성원들과 상호의존관계에 있음을 경험하게 하였다. 셋째, 발달장애인은 연극 활동을 통해 자기를 성찰하였다. 타인의 시선으로부터 자기 삶의 내면과 가치 지향적것으로 옮겨진 시선은 새로운 경험을 통해 성장과 변화를 경험하게 했다. 연구결과를 토대로 발달장애인 평생교육에서 연극을 활성화시킬 수 있는 방안을 제안 하였다.

This study aims to find out the possibility of lifelong education for the developmentally disabled as a social role of applied theater. To this end, we looked at the failures and new discoveries experienced while doing theater activities using participatory action research methods in the field of lifelong education for the developmentally disabled through examples. As a result of the study, first, people with developmental disabilities wanted to be the subject of all theater activities. People with developmental disabilities who lived mainly otherized lives in the existing social order wanted to actively express their eyes, thoughts, and life experiences on the theater stage. Second, theater activities restored the sence of community of people with developmental disabilities. Theater activities experienced that they were interdependent with various members in the dynamics of mutual relations. Third, people with developmental disabilities reflected on themselves through theatrical activities. The gaze transferred from the gaze of others to the inner and value-oriented of one's life made one experience growth and change through new experiences. Based on the results of the study, a plan to revitalize theater in lifelong education for people with developmental disabilities was proposed.
