이 글에서는 박물관교육의 의미를 박물관의 복합성, 혼재성을 기초로 고찰하였다(연구배경, 방법). 박물관교육의 다양성, 자율성이 박물관의 특성과 연관된 것을 밝히기 위함이다(연구목적 및 필요성). 박물관의 특성이 박물관교육의 다양성과 연관됨을 제시하고, 박물관교육의 요소, 목적, 방법들을 검토하였다(연구범위). 다음과 같은 연구결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 박물관은 일시적으로 조직된 사물과 사람이 상호작용하면서 질서를 형성하는 곳이다. 질서의 중심에는 유물이 있으며 박물관에서 관람자는 유물, 다른 사람 등과 만나며 해석을 통해 분리와 재혼합을 경험한다. 이 과정은 관람자의 선택과 자유에 기초한다. 둘째, 박물관교육의 요소는 박물관에서의 가르치는 활동을 의미하는 교수와 이 활동에서 기인한 지적, 정서적, 신체적 변화를 말하는 학습, 박물관교육이 유의미하게 일어나게 돕는 체험 등으로 구분할 수 있다. 이 요소 주변에는 박물관이라는 공간, 사람, 유물과 사람의 연결, 결과의 평가 등 다양한 요인들이 존재한다. 셋째, 박물관교육에는 다양한 목적과 경쟁하는 방법들이 있다. 박물관교육의 목적은 개인의 박물관 방문 동기와 관련되고, 박물관의 이념, 사회적 요청 등에 영향받는다. 박물관교육은 다양성과 융합, 기억과 감정, 시각적 사고전략, 놀이 등의 방법이 경쟁하고 있다.
The reason why museum education had to have various meanings was considered based on exhibitionary complex of museums. This is to reveal that the diversity and autonomy of museum education. This article reviewed the elements, purposes, and methods of museum education. First, a museum is a place where temporarily organized objects and people interact. At the center of this order are objects, and visitors meet objects and other people in a museum. Separation and remixing are experienced through interpretation. The process is based on the choice and freedom of the visitors. Second, teaching and learning refers to intellectual, emotional, and physical changes resulting from museum activities. Experience is a way to make museum education happen meaningfully. There are various factors around this elements, such as the museum space, the connection between peoples and etc. Third, there are competing purposes and methods in museum education. The purpose of museum education is related to the motivation of visitors. Numerous methods such as a diversity, a memory, visual thinking strategies are competing.
