An Interview with Kristjan Kristjansson

Kristán Kristjánsson is currently Professor at the University of Akureyri, Iceland, an elected member of the International Society for Research on Emotion ( ISRE), Fellow of the Icelandic Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the University of Akureyri Evaluation Committee for Recruitment and Promotions. He is also a member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Moral Education and the History of Akureyri; he is also a member of the Akureyri District Hospital Ethical Committee. Dr. Kristánsson is the recipient of several grants and awards, including an award for the book Proskakostir, short listed for the Best Non-Fiction Book of the Year in Iceland ( 1992) and the Young Humanities Scholar of the Year Award form the Icelandic Council of Science ( 1997). In addition, Dr. Kristánsson is the author of well over 100 publications, including his latest book Justice and Desert-Based Emo-tions released by Ashgate Publishing in December of 2005. Dr. Kristjánsson was born in Reykjavík, Iceland, July 25th, 1959. After graduating from Menntaskólinn á Akureyri in 1979, he attended the University of Iceland and obtained his BA in philosophy and German in 1983. In 1986, he earned his Teaching Diploma through the University College of Teaching, Reykjavík. In 1988, Dr. Krist-jánsson received his MA in Philosophy through the University of St. Andrews, Scot-land and two years later, earned his Ph.D. from the same university.
