This study is amind to explore the alternative to the western. theories of the the educational administration that is based on structural-functionalistic paradigm. For the aim, I pointed epistemological misconception that is, objectivism and universalism in the structural一functionalistic paradigm. Then, I suggested that the cultural approach could correct the misconception. With the . cultural approach, I reviewd the qualities of Confucian system that is the base of traditional culture in Korea. The cultural characteristics are the community relation—oriented, the effort preference, the holistic life style. And then, I suggested the implications of cultural approach for educational administration studies by reviewing the effects of cultural characteristics on the educational administration in schools.
