학교 안 전문적 학습공동체의 운영 실태와 발전 저해 요인에 관한 연구

A Study on the Operational Reality and Inhibiting Factors of Professional Learning Communities within Schools

이 연구에서는 전문적 학습공동체의 이론과 선행 연구들을 바탕으로 현재 각 학교 안에서 운영되고 있는 전문적 학습공동체의 운영 실태와 저해 요인을 탐구하였다. 그 결과, 전문적 학습공동체에 참여하는 구성원들은 서로 가치와 비전을 공유하며 수업 전문성을 신장하고 있다. 더불어 전문적 학습공동체에 대한 교사들의 참여도가 향상되고 있으며, 전문적 학습공동체의 지속가능성도 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 전문적 학습공동체의 더 큰 발전을 가로막는 장애 요소가 여전히 존재하였다. 그것은 다름 아니라, 개인적인 교직 문화, 부족한 교사 리더십, 지원적인 환경 부족 등이다. 따라서, 이 연구에서는 전문적 학습공동체 운영의 중요성과 필요성에 대한 교원의 인식 제고, 공동체성에 기반한 전문적 학습공동체 운영, 전문적 학습공동체 운영을 통한 교육에 대한 인식의 전환, 전문적 학습공동체 운영에 적합한 새로운 리더십의 도입 등을 전문적 학습공동체 발전 방안으로 제안하였다.

This study explored the operational reality and inhibiting factors of professional learning communities in schools based on theory and the preceding study of the Professional Learning Community. As a result of this study, all members of the schools shared the same value and vision, thus improving teaching expertise. In addition, each teacher’s participation grew the professional learning community and confirmed the ability to sustain such a professional learning community. But individual teaching culture, insufficient teacher leadership, and lack of supporting environment still hindered further development of the professional learning community. Therefore this study suggests enhanced awareness of the importance of teachers and necessity of management, community, consideration of education, and introduction of new leadership.
