대학생의 성인애착과 대인관계문제의 관계: 정신화와 고통감내력의 매개효과

The relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal problems of university students: The mediating effect of mentalization and distress tolerance

본 연구는 대학생의 성인애착(애착불안, 애착회피)과 대인관계문제의 관계에서 정신화와 고통감내력의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만18~27세의 대학생 414명을 대상으로 친밀관계경험, 대인관계문제, 정신화, 고통감내력 척도를 실시하였고, SPSS 21.0와 SPSS Process Macro를 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과는, 첫째, 애착불안, 애착회피, 대인관계문제, 정신화, 고통감내력은 모두 유의미한 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 애착불안, 애착회피와 대인관계문제의 관계에서 각각 정신화의 매개효과가 나타났다. 셋째, 애착불안과 대인관계문제의 관계에서 고통감내력의 매개효과가 나타났으나, 애착회피와 대인관계문제의 관계에서는 고통감내력의 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 즉, 애착회피의 경우 대인관계문제에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 고통감내력을 경유하는 간접효과는 유의미하지 않았다. 넷째, 애착불안, 애착회피와 대인관계문제의 관계에서 모두 정신화와 고통감내력의 순차적 이중매개효과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의 및 제한점을 논의하였다.

This study attempted to verify the mediating effect of mentalization and distress tolerance in the relationship between adult attachment (attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance) and interpersonal problems of university students. To this end, 414 university students aged 18 to 27 were surveyed to measure experiences in close relationships, interpersonal problems, mentalization, and distress tolerance scales, and data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and SPSS Process Macro. As a result of the study, first, attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, interpersonal problems, mentalization, and distress tolerance all showed significant correlations. Second, the mediating effect of mentalization appeared in the relationship between attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, and interpersonal problems, respectively. Third, there was a mediating effect of distress tolerance in the relationship between attachment anxiety and interpersonal problems, but there was no mediating effect of distress tolerance in the relationship between attachment avoidance and interpersonal problems. In other words, attachment avoidance directly affected interpersonal problem, and the indirect effect through distress tolerance was not significant. Fourth, in the relationship between attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, and interpersonal problems, there was a sequential double mediating effect of mentalization and distress tolerance. Based on these results, the significance and limitations of the study were discussed.
