교정 치료 과정 중 사용되는 많은 자료들이 디지털 기술의 진화로 인해 아날로그에서 디지털 자료로 변환이 되었다. 필름을 통한 방사선 영상과 사진 자료들은 컴퓨터 이미지 파일의 형태로 전송되고 있고, CBCT의 경우에는 2차원을 넘어서 3차원의 형태로 골격을 재구성, 출력해 볼 수 있으며 이러한 결과물들을 이용하여 치료에 응용해 볼 수 있는 시대이기도 하다. 이러한 자료들을 저장하고, 확인할 수 있는 장치들도 경박간소화, 즉 더 얇고 가벼우면서도 더 좋은 성능의 제품들이 경쟁적으로 발표되고 널리 쓰이고 있다. PC를 통해서 확인 가능했던 방사선 이미지, 치료 경과의 사진들이 이제는 태블릿 등을 통해 확인 가능하게 됨으로써 시간과 공간의 제약이 줄어들고, 직관적인 인터페이스로 데이터를 쉽게 확인할 수 있게 되었다.

Many of the materials used in orthodontic treatment have been evolved from analog to digital data due to the development of digital technology. Radiographic images and photographs through film are transmitted in the form of computer image files. Using CBCT, the skeletal components can be reconstructed in the form of a three-dimensional shape and applied to treatment. The devices that store and identify data are also becoming thinner, lighter, and have better performance. Radiographic images and photographs can be viewed on a tablet, so that time and space constraints are reduced and data can be easily identified with an intuitive interface.
