투명교정 시스템의 장점을 고려한 효율적인 임상적 적용

최근 브라켓/와이어 교정장치에 비해 심미적이고 편하다는 장점 때문에 투명교정장치를 이용한 교정치료에 대한 환자들의 관심이 급속도로 증가하고 있다. CAD/CAM system을 바탕으로 교정치료의 전과정은 이미 디지털화 되어 있고, 여러 교정 장치 중 투명교정장치가 이 과정에 최적화 되어 있으며 임상적으로 많은 장점을 가지고 있다. 투명교정장치는 장치의 역학적 장점을 최대한으로 이용할 수 있는 적절한 케이스 선택을 통해 다양한 케이스에서 기존의 브라켓/와이어 시스템에 비해 우수한 결과를 더 쉽고 빠르게 얻을 수도 있다. 또한 다양한 이유로 브라켓/와이어 시스템으로는 치료를 진행하기 어려운 증례에서 투명교정장치의 선택으로 치료가 가능해지는 경우도 있기 때문에 치료 가능한 환자의 범위가 확장될 수 있다는 것도 장점으로 꼽을 수 있다. 하지만 100% 환자 의존적으로 치료를 진행해야 하기 때문에 환자의 협조도는 치료의 성공을 위해 가장 중요한 열쇠이며, 투명교정장치를 의사가 얼마나 잘 이해하는지도 치료의 성공 여부를 좌우하는 요소 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 Invisalign Clear Aligner의 역학적, 임상적 장점을 고려하여 효율적으로 치료를 진행할 수 있는 다양한 사례를 살펴보고자 한다.

Due to the advantages of being more esthetic and comfortable compared to traditional bracket/wire orthodontic appliances, there has been a rapid increase in patient interest in orthodontic treatment using clear aligners. The entire process of orthodontic treatment has already been digitalized on the basis of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. Among various orthodontic devices, clear aligners are optimized for this process and have many clinical advantages. By selecting appropriate cases that maximize the mechanical advantages of clear aligners, superior results can be obtained more easily and quickly than with traditional bracket/wire systems in various cases. In addition, selecting clear aligners can expand the range of treatable patients, including cases in which treatment with bracket/wire systems may be difficult for various reasons. However, since treatment must be carried out 100% dependent on the patient, patient cooperation is the most important key to the success of treatment. The extent to which the orthodontist understands clear aligners is also one of the factors that determine the success of treatment. In this article, we aim to examine various cases that could be treated efficiently by considering the mechanical and clinical advantages of Invisalign clear aligners.
