도시형 다문화 교육의 방향과 실제 -대전시 서부다문화 교육센터 운영 사례를 중심으로-

The Current Situation and the Direction of Urban Multi-Cultural Education

대전시의 다문화 가정은 다른 지역과 다른 독특한 특징을 가지고 있다. 농어촌 지역의 다문화 가정과 크게 다른 것은 물론이고, 다른 도시 지역과도 구별되는 특징들을 가지고 있다. 대전시만의 특수한 환경으로 고학력의 이주민이나 거주민들이 상당히 많으며, 장기 해외 거주 귀국 자녀 및 일시적 거주 외국인 가정들도 많고 새터민들도 있다. 그렇기 때문에 대전시의 다문화 교육은 이와 같은 특성과 환경을 고려한 대전시만의 맞춤형 교육이 되어야 한다. 이에 본고에서는 우선 대전시 다문화 가정 구성원들의 특성을 분석, 파악하고 이들에게 필요한 다문화 교육 프로그램과 초등 교사들이 요구하는 다문화 교육 프로그램 내용을 조사하였다. 그리고 이러한 조사 결과를 바탕으로 현재 대전광역시 서부다문화 교육센터에서 개발, 시행하고 있는 실제 다문화 교육 프로그램을 소개하였다.

Multi-cultural families of Daejeon have a unique feature which variates from farming and fishing villages and even other cities. Because of the specific surroundings, there are lots of children of the ones who are back home from abroad, temporary staying foreign families, North Korean defectors and also highly educated residents. Therefore, the multi-cultural education of Daejeon should be provided with the consideration of these unique features. So, this paper looked into the features of multi-cultural family members in Daejeon and investigated the contents of multi-cultural education which the multi-cultural family members and elementary school teachers demand. And based on these, this paper introduced the multi-cultural education program which the Daejeon Seobu Center for Multicultural Education currently developed and provides.
