A Feature Evaluation Matrix of Mobile Applications for People with Speech Disorders

말 장애가 있는 사용자를 위한 의사소통용 모바일 앱의 기능 요구사항을 실제 말 장애인 대상 요구 조사, 기존 모바일 앱 조사 분석, 시험용 의사소통 앱을 이용한 사용자 평가를 통하여 수집 정리하였다. 주요기능 요구 사항은 음성합성, 텍스트 입력, 긴 문장 입력, 상황 별 범주화 분장, 인터페이스로 나누고, 각 주요 기능의 세부 기능 사양을 정리하였다. 세부 기능 사양은 사용자의 만족도와 기술적 난이도에 따라 정리하여 제시하였다. 도출한 주요 기능 및 상세 기능 요구사항은 말 장애인의 의사소통을 위한 모바일 앱의 개발 및 평가 기준으로 활용 할 수 있다.

In this paper, we develop a feature evaluation matrix for mobile applications for the people with speech disorders. In order to find the required functions of such applications, we interviewed people having speech impairment, surveyed research papers, and conducted a user test with a prototype application. We identify that major required features of mobile applications for the people with speech disorders are text-to-speech, text input, long speech, situation-based dialog and accessible user interface. For each major feature in the matrix, we define detailed technical specifications by considering technical complexity and user satisfaction. The developed feature matrix can be used in the feature evaluation of mobile applications for the people with speech disorders.
