특수학교 AAC 연구동아리 ‘보통날’의 지도 사례보고

A study case report of the AAC study circles ‘ordinary day’ of special school

배경 및 목적: AAC 연구동아리 ‘보통날’은 2 가지 의미를 가지고 조직하였다. 첫 번째는 특별한 일이 없는 보통날에 누구나 하는 대화처럼, 장애학생들도 보통 대화가 자연스러운 일상에서 이루어지도록 하자는 것이다. 두 번째는 보완대체의사소통체계로 장애학생에게 날개를 달아주자는 의미의 줄임말이다. 이 연구의 목적은 교사 연구동아리 활동을 통하여 AAC가 필요한 장애학생들에게 AAC를 지원하고, 보다 질 높은 AAC 중재를 제공하기 위함이다. 방법: 의사소통에 어려움을 겪고 있는 장애학생 3 명에게 장애정도 및 특성에 적합한 스크립트, 학교일과, 또래교수 AAC 중재를 각각 실시하였다. 중재 도구는 스마트 기기에 AAC App을 설치하여 실시하였다. 결과: 중재 이후에 장애학생들은 대부분 목표 어휘를 AAC를 통해 표현할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 의사소통 행동이 증가할수록 문제행동이 감소되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 의사소통에 어려움이 있는 장애학생은 학교생활에서 학습 참여의 제한 또는 문제행동이 나타날 수 있다. 그러므로 신체적, 인지적 특성의 한계로 자신의 감정이나 생각을 표현하는데 어려움을 겪고 있는 학생들에게 지속적인 관심을 가져야한다. ‘보통날’은 그 학생들도 이 사례와 같은 긍정적인 변화를 기다리며 AAC 중재를 해 나갈 것이다.

Background and Objectives: Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) study circle’s concept of an ‘ordinary day’ involves two daily experiences. First, special needs students attempt to have a everyday conversation similar to conversation that ordinary people would have. Second, ‘ordinary day’, in Korean, means “to give it wings” and special needs students, using AAC, apply this principle. The purpose of this study is to prove the importance of AAC for special needs students and to provide higher quality interventions through study circle experiences. The overall goal of ACC study circles is to allow special needs students to experience life as similarly to ordinary people as possible. Method: The interventions of script, school schedule, peer tutoring, etc., appropriate for the degree or attribute of disability, were conducted for three special needs students who have difficulty communicating. The interventions were implemented using an ACC application installed on a smart device. Results: After the implementation of interventions, special needs students could express most objective vocabulary through AAC. In addition, it was found that the increase of communication behavior decreased problem behaviors. Conclusion: Special needs students can appear to have behavior problems or limited participation in learning in school. Therefore, we should continue to give attention to the students who have difficulty in expressing their feelings and thoughts due to physical or cognitive problems. AAC study circle’s ‘ordinary day’ will have two AAC interventions for students and looks forward to helping students change in a positive manner, as seen in this case.
