가정과 연계한 AAC 말하기 프로그램이 발달장애학생의 의사소통능력 향상에 미친 효과

The Effects of AAC based Communication Program in School-Home Cooperation on Communication Skill of Students with Developmental Disabilities

배경 및 목적: 본 연구는 서울 소재 A 특수학교 장애학생들에게 AAC를 활용한 일상경험 말하기 프로그램을 실시한 것으로 가정과 연계한 중재가 발달장애 학생의 의사소통능력 향상에 미친 교육적 효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 AAC를 활용한 일상경험 말하기 프로그램을 통해 정확한 단어 사용과 사용 단어의 향상 여부, 문장으로 말하기에서 보인 변화를 알아보고자 한 것이다. 방법: 서울시에 소재한 A특수학교 초등학생 중 가정연계지도가 가능한 초등학교 1 학년 학생 2 명과 6 학년 학생 2 명이 참여하였으며 전공과 1 학년 학생이 향후 확장을 위한 사례로 제시되었다. 중재는 연구자가 아동별 일상경험을 분석하여 학생별 수준에 적절한 의사소통책을 제작한 후 학교 일과를 이용하여 주 1 회 AAC를 활용한 일상경험 말하기를 교수하는 것이고, 관련 내용은 가정에도 공유되어 학교와 가정에서 일관된 주제로 AAC를 활용한 지도가 가능하도록 하였다. 결과: 연구 참여자인 초등학교 학생들의 의사소통 시도, 발화, AAC 활용 능력 등 다양한 방면에서 발전을 보인 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 가정과의 연계지도가 학부모의 교육 만족도와 학생들의 기타 영역에 긍정적인 발전이 있음을 보여주었으며 단일 학급이나 특정 연령의 학생이 아닌 학교 차원의 프로그램으로써 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 시사하고 있다. 마지막으로 다양한 연령과 수준의 학생에게 AAC를 활용한 프로그램을 제공하는 연구의 필요성과 몇 가지 제언을 제공하였다.

Background and objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the educational effect on communication skill of students with developmental disabilities in a special school by daily experience communication program based on AAC in association with students’ home. This study intended to find improvements in the exact use of words, usability of vocabularies and speaking ability with complete sentences. Methods: This study involved two first-grade and two sixth-grade students, who were able to be intervened in association with students’ home. Also one adult student in vocational training participated in this study in order to explore the expandibility of this AAC program. During the six month long intervention period, daily experience communication program was conducted once a week in school schedule by using customized booklets prepared according to a student’s daily experience and communication skill level. By sharing the related program materials with a student’ family, this AAC based program was conducted consistently at school and at home. Results: Many meaningful results showed participants in various communication skills such as voluntary communication attempts, vocal communication skill and ability to utilize AAC. Conclusion: In Conclusion, this study indicated the potential for developing a school-wide AAC program and the efficacy of cooperation with students’ home. Also this study suggested the further research need for developing customized ACC programs for students of various ages and levels within a special school.
