예비교사 대상 한국형 웹기반 보완대체 교육활동 보드 시스템의 사용성 평가

A Usability Test of Pre-service Teachers for the Web-Act System– A Korean Web-based AAC Activity Board Making System

배경 및 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 웹 기반 보완대체 교육활동 보드 시스템인 Web-Act의 사용성을 평가하고 이에 근거한 개선사항을 도출하는 것이다. 방법: 예비 특수교사 28명과 예비 일반교사 22 명으로 구성된 총 50 명의 잠재적 Web-Act 사용자를 대상으로 Web-Act의 주요 기능인 의사소통판, 달력, 일정표, 시퀀스, 어휘학습판의 기능 사용 용이성과 만족도에 대해 5 점 척도의 시나리오로 조사하였고 Web-Act의 개발 목표, 내용, 교수-학습 전략, 활용가능성, 보드와 심볼 관리 등에 대한 전반적인 사용성은 5 점 척도의 설문지를 이용해 평가하였다. 결과: 연구 결과, Web-Act의 사용성은 예비 특수교사의 평균이 예비 일반교사의 평균보다 상대적으로 높았으나 전반적으로 모두 평균 이상의 긍정적인 응답을 보였다. 시나리오 실행 시 발생한 시행착오 오류 및 Web-Act의 좋은 점과 개선이 요구되는 점들을 분석하여 제시하였다. 논의 및 결론: 사용성 평가 결과 도출된 개선 요구사항들을 반영하여 Web-Act를 수정 보완한 후 현장에서 활용 가능성이 높은 웹 기반의 보완대체 교육활동 보드 및 시각적 지원 시스템을 제공할 수 있기를 기대한다. 또한 본 연구의 제한점과 함께 이를 보완하기 위한 후속 연구들에 대한 제언이 제시되었다.

Background and Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the usability of Web-Act system, a web-based augmentative and alternative communication activity board making system, and to develop improvements accordingly. Methods: A total of 50 potential Web-Act users, 28 pre-service special education teachers and 22 pre-service general education teachers, participated in the 5-point Likert scale scenario test to gauge the ease of use and satisfaction of Web-Act’s primary functions: communication boards, calendars, schedules, sequences, and vocabulary learning boards. Additionally, the overall usability of the Web-Act in regards to development goals, content, teaching-learning strategies, usability in various contexts, and board/symbol management were evaluated through a 5-point Likert scale survey questionnaire. Results: The results of this study indicated positive usability of the Web-Act system. However, the usability of the pre-service special education teachers was relatively higher than that of the pre-service general education teachers. The results also included the users’ trial and error patterns, good points, and the points that need improvement. Discussion and Conclusion: After revising the Web-Act system through implementation of the recommendations derived from usability test, the Web-based AAC activity board making system is expected to provide efficient visual support for students with disabilities in educational practices. The limitations of this study and suggestions for subsequent studies to improve on the limitations were presented.
